SSC MTS Result 2026: Check Havaldar PET/PST Shortlist and Next Steps
SSC has released the MTS and Havaldar result 2026. Check key figures, qualifying marks, shortlist details, result steps and the next PET/PST process.

The Staff Selection Commission has released the Computer Based Examination result for the SSC MTS and Havaldar Examination 2025. The result was published on August 3, 2026, on the official website, ssc.gov.in.
The result shortlists candidates for the next stage of recruitment. For the Havaldar post, selected candidates must take the Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Standard Test, known as PET and PST. The written exam has done its job, but the running shoes now get a vote.

The recruitment drive drew a large number of applications. The Computer Based Examination took place from February 4 to February 20, 2026, in several shifts and at centres across the country.

Why SSC used normalised marks
The exam was held in more than one shift. Since the difficulty level can vary between shifts, SSC used a normalisation process before preparing the result. Candidates were shortlisted for the Havaldar PET and PST based on their normalised Session II scores.
SSC used a vacancy-to-candidate ratio of 1:7 for this stage. This means that candidates were shortlisted in numbers linked to the available Havaldar vacancies. The shortlist is provisional and does not guarantee final appointment.
Minimum qualifying marks
Candidates had to meet the minimum marks in both sessions of the examination. The required marks were:
- UR candidates: 30 per cent in each session
- OBC and EWS candidates: 25 per cent in each session
- All other categories: 20 per cent in each session
Meeting the minimum marks alone was not enough. SSC also considered the cut-off for the relevant post and category while preparing the list.
Category-wise Havaldar shortlist
A total of 8,071 candidates have been shortlisted for the Havaldar PET and PST. The list includes 3,136 candidates from the UR category, 1,659 from OBC, 882 from SC, 840 from EWS and 609 from ST. Candidates from ESM and PwBD categories are also included in the result process.

- Choose the result link for MTS and Havaldar Examination 2025.
- Download the result PDF or login page shown by SSC.
- Use the search option in the PDF to find your roll number.
- Save the result and keep a printed copy for future use.
Candidates should check their roll number, category and post details with care. A slow internet connection can test anyone's patience, so downloading the PDF during less busy hours may help.
What shortlisted Havaldar candidates must do next
Shortlisted candidates must appear for the PET and PST. SSC will release the date, venue and other instructions on its website in a separate notice. Candidates should keep checking the official portal instead of relying on messages shared in social media groups.
The physical tests are compulsory for the Havaldar post. A candidate who does not qualify in the PET or PST will not be considered for Havaldar. However, the candidate may still remain eligible for the MTS post if they meet the requirements for that post.
Candidates should keep their admit card, identity proof, photographs and other documents ready. The official notice will list the exact documents and physical standards. It is also wise to check travel plans early, since test centres may be outside the candidate's home district.
What happens after PET and PST?
SSC will prepare the tentative allocation result for MTS and Havaldar after the physical tests are complete. Allocation will depend on merit, category, vacancies, post preferences and the applicable recruitment rules.
The Commission also said that two candidates' results have been withheld due to suspected activity. Results of 727 candidates were not processed after post-examination analysis found involvement in malpractice. Regional offices also debarred 169 candidates for different reasons.
SSC examined objections submitted against the provisional answer key and made the required changes before evaluating the papers. The final answer keys and marks of qualified and non-qualified candidates will be uploaded after the final recruitment result is declared. The PET and PST schedule will be shared through the SSC website.
