Checking your status is simple:
- Engineering candidates should log into the official FE counselling portal and click on "Check Provisional Allotment Status (CAP Round-I)".
- MBA and MMS candidates need to log into their respective counselling portal using their credentials.
- Use your Application ID and Date of Birth or password to log in.
Once you're in, double check the institute and branch allotted to you. A small mistake here can cost you a seat, so read every detail carefully before moving forward.
The Deadline You Cannot Miss
Mark your calendar. All post-allotment formalities need to be completed between August 3 and August 5, 2026. This includes seat acceptance, the online declaration, paying the acceptance fee and reporting to your allotted institute. Why Competition Is Fierce This Year
The numbers this year tell a story of high competition. Out of 1,32,838 registrations for the first MHT CET attempt, 1,16,196 candidates actually appeared, giving an attendance rate of 87.47 per cent. Most of these candidates, around 1,12,601, were from Maharashtra, while 3,595 came from outside the state. The exam was held across 181 centres covering all 36 districts.
Branches like Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Science, and Electronics and Telecommunication remain the most sought after. Top institutes like COEP Technological University and VJTI recorded Open category closing ranks between 860 and 960 for their leading branches.
