CSIR NET 2026 Answer Key: Download Link, Objections and Score Calculation

The CSIR NET 2026 June session answer key is the next key update for candidates who took the exam on July 17 and 18. The National Testing Agency is expected to upload the provisional answer key on csirnet.nta.nic.in. The response sheet and question paper may be available with it.

As of August 13, 2026, NTA has not confirmed an exact release time. Candidates should check the official website instead of relying on messages shared on social media. Exam updates can travel faster than the answer key itself, and not all of them are correct.

Where to download the CSIR NET 2026 answer key

The provisional answer key will be available on the official CSIR NET portal. Keep your application number and date of birth or password ready before you begin.

Open csirnet.nta.nic.in.
Find the link for the CSIR NET June 2026 Provisional Answer Key.
Enter your application number and date of birth or password.
Type the security pin shown on the screen.
Submit the details and open the answer key, response sheet and question paper.
Download the files and save them on your phone or computer.

The direct download link will appear on the official portal after NTA publishes the answer key. Do not enter your login details on websites that are not linked to the NTA domain.

What the provisional answer key contains

The answer key helps you match your recorded responses with the answers accepted by NTA. It may show the exam date, shift, subject, subject code, question IDs and correct option IDs. The response sheet shows the options marked by you during the computer-based test.

Check the question ID with care. A small mismatch can change the result of your score check. It is useful to keep the question paper and response sheet open together while reviewing each answer.

How to calculate your estimated score

First, count the correct and incorrect responses in line with the official marking rules for your subject. CSIR NET marking can vary by part and subject, so use the marking scheme shown in the question paper and the NTA notice.

For papers where the stated rule is +2 marks for a correct answer and -0.25 marks for an incorrect answer, the basic formula is:

Estimated raw score = (Correct answers × 2) - (Incorrect answers × 0.25)

Do not count questions that you left unanswered unless the official instructions say otherwise. Your estimated raw score is not the final result. NTA may use normalisation and publish an NTA score or percentile. The final qualification decision depends on the official result and category-wise cut-off.

CSIR NET answer key objection process

NTA is expected to open a short challenge window after releasing the provisional key. Candidates can challenge an answer only during this period. Once the window closes, the portal may not accept new objections.

To raise a challenge:

Sign in to the answer key challenge portal.
Click the Challenge Answer Key option.
Select the question ID that you wish to challenge.
Choose the answer option that you believe is correct.
Upload a clear supporting document, if required.
Save the claim and pay the challenge fee.
Submit the final form and keep the receipt.

The fee is expected to be INR 200 per question. Payment may be made through a debit card, credit card or internet banking. Check the official notice for the final fee, file size limit and payment deadline before submitting an objection.

Raise an objection only when you have a strong reference, such as a standard textbook, research source or accepted academic material. A guess is not a good reason to spend INR 200. The review panel will examine the claim, and accepted changes will be included in the final answer key.

What happens after the objection window

NTA will review the submitted challenges with the help of subject experts. It will then publish the final answer key. The final key is used to prepare the result, so it may differ from the provisional version.

Save both the provisional and final files. Also keep your response sheet, challenge receipt and score calculation. These records can help if you need to check your result later.

CSIR NET cut-off and result updates

The cut-off is released by subject and category. General, EWS and OBC candidates need at least 33% to meet the minimum qualifying requirement, while SC, ST and PwD candidates need at least 25%, as stated in the exam rules. Meeting the minimum mark does not guarantee JRF or Lectureship. The final cut-off can change based on the subject, category and overall performance.

After the final answer key, NTA will publish the result and scorecard. Candidates should compare their NTA score or percentile with the cut-off PDF released through the official CSIR or NTA website. Keep your application number safe, because the result login may still require it.
