MHT CET 2027 registration may open soon, and the first phase of the exam is likely to take place in December 2026. The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell has not released the official schedule yet. Students should wait for the notice on the official website before treating any date as final.
MHT CET is a state-level entrance exam for admission to BTech, BE and other courses in colleges across Maharashtra. Students who qualify can take part in the Centralised Admission Process, also called CAP, for seat allotment.
MHT CET 2027 exam dates may be announced soon
Reports suggest that MHT CET 2027 may follow the two-phase format used for the 2026 admission cycle. The Phase 1 exam may be held in December 2026, while the dates for Phase 2 are expected to be shared with the full timetable.
There is no official confirmation about the December exam yet. For the 2026 exam, the CET Cell released the schedule on November 21, 2025. Based on this timeline, students can expect the MHT CET 2027 notification and registration details on the official website in the coming weeks.
The exam is held for two groups:
- PCM: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, mainly for engineering courses.

What students should know about the exam
MHT CET is held in computer-based test mode at exam centres. Students can appear for one phase or both phases, based on the rules in the official notification. If two attempts are allowed, the better score is expected to be used for the admission process, as in the earlier exam pattern.

How the three-hour paper is divided
The paper has two sections. Physics and Chemistry are tested in the first 90 minutes. This section locks after the time ends. Students then get 90 minutes for Mathematics or Biology, depending on their group.
In the PCM paper, Mathematics carries more weight than Physics and Chemistry. In the PCB paper, students answer questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Each question carries one mark, while Mathematics questions carry two marks in the PCM pattern listed for the previous cycle.
MHT CET 2027 syllabus and marking scheme
The syllabus is based on the Maharashtra State Board Class 11 and Class 12 curriculum. Class 12 topics form the larger share of the paper, while Class 11 topics also carry marks. Students from other boards should compare their syllabus with the official MHT CET syllabus before they begin revision.
