The wait is almost over for students who appeared in the MHT CET 2026 first attempt for the PCM group. The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, has already released results for the PCB group on June 8, 2026. Now, PCM scorecards are expected any moment.
If you appeared for the exam, here's everything you need to know about checking your result and what comes next.
When Will the PCM Result Be Released?
The CET Cell has not confirmed an exact date yet. However, media reports suggest the MHT CET 2026 PCM result for the first attempt could arrive by June 12, 2026. The PCB group results were announced at 10:30 PM on June 8, so the PCM results might follow a similar pattern.
Keep your login details ready. The result will be available only through the official portal at cetcell.mahacet.org.

No physical copy will be sent by post. The downloaded scorecard is what you'll need throughout the counselling process, so make sure you keep it safe.
What Details Will Your Scorecard Show?
Your MHT CET 2026 scorecard will display several important details:
- Your name and parent's name
- Application number
- Subject category
- Subject wise percentile scores
- Aggregate percentile score
Notice that the result comes in percentile form, not raw marks. This method ensures fairness across different exam shifts. Your percentile reflects how you performed compared to other candidates in your shift.
Understanding the Percentile System
The CET Cell uses percentile scoring to ensure no student faces a disadvantage due to a harder question paper. The percentile shows what percentage of candidates scored equal to or below your score in the same shift.
For example, if your percentile is 85, it means you performed better than 85% of the candidates who appeared in your shift.
What If You Forgot Your Password?
Don't worry. The login page has a 'Forgot Password' option. Click it, follow the steps to reset your password, and then proceed to download your result.
PCB Results Are Already Out
The first attempt PCB results were declared on June 8. A total of 2,84,063 candidates registered for the PCB group, and 2,63,213 appeared for the test. That's an attendance rate of 92.66%.
Eleven students achieved a perfect 100 percentile in the PCB group. The list includes candidates from districts like Nagpur, Palghar, Mumbai City, Kolhapur, Solapur, Dhule, Sangli, Pune, and Thane.
Changes Made After Objections
The CET Cell released a final answer key after reviewing objections from students. For the first attempt PCM group, 16 questions received bonus marks, and 4 answers were updated. For the PCB group, 2 answers were corrected.
The second attempt also saw changes. The PCM group had bonus marks for 14 questions with 14 answer updates, while the PCB group had 3 answer corrections.
These changes were incorporated before calculating the final results. Students cannot challenge the final answer key.
What Happens After the Result?
Once both PCM and PCB results are out, the Centralised Admission Process will begin. Here's what you need to know:
The CAP process includes several steps. First, you register on the CAP portal. Then you upload required documents and pay the counselling fee. The authorities will prepare a merit list, first a provisional one that you can challenge if needed, followed by the final merit list.
After the merit list is published, you fill in your college and course choices. The system then allots seats based on your rank and preferences. Typically, three to four counselling rounds take place.
Merit List Preparation
The merit list considers both your MHT CET score and your Class 12 marks in a 50:50 ratio. Your position in this combined merit list becomes your All India Rank, which determines seat allotment.
Seat Reservation
Maharashtra reserves 85% of seats for domicile candidates. The remaining 15% falls under the All India quota. Both quotas follow the same eligibility criteria.
Eligibility Requirements
To participate in counselling, you need to have passed Class 12 with at least 45% marks. Reserved category candidates need 40%. There is no age limit, and you must be an Indian citizen.
Understanding Cutoffs
Cutoffs will be released after each counselling round. These show the closing ranks at which colleges admitted students for different courses. Cutoffs vary by college, course, and category.
Several factors affect cutoffs: the number of candidates, exam difficulty, available seats, previous year trends, and the candidate's category.
Can You Get Your Result Rechecked?
No. The CET Cell does not allow rechecking or re-evaluation of results. The percentile scores are final.
However, if you want to verify your marks, you can write to the Divisional authority within four days of result declaration. Include a bank draft of Rs 1,000 in favour of "Director of Education & Research Mumbai" with your application.
Which Colleges Accept MHT CET Scores?
Various institutions participate in the MHT CET counselling process:
- Government institutes
- Government aided institutes
- University managed institutes and departments
- Unaided private professional educational institutes
Keep Your Documents Ready
While waiting for results, gather all documents you'll need for counselling. This includes your Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, domicile certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), and other relevant documents.
Make sure you have both original documents and photocopies. The counselling process moves fast, and having everything prepared saves time.
Stay Alert for Updates
The CET Cell posts all official announcements on cetcell.mahacet.org. Check the website regularly for updates about results, counselling schedules, and merit lists.
Make sure the email address and phone number you registered with are active. The authorities might send important notifications through these channels.
The next few weeks will be busy with results, counselling, and admissions. Stay organized, keep your documents ready, and don't miss any important dates. Your preparation now will make the admission process much smoother.
