What to check before locking choices
Choice order plays an important role in counselling. Add colleges and courses based on your real preference, not just on what friends or social media posts suggest. Review the following points before locking:
- College name and course name
- Course and seat type
- Category and eligibility rules
- Fee details and other charges
- Location and reporting requirements
- Documents needed by the institute
Do not select a college only because its name looks familiar. Read the seat details and rules on the official counselling portal. Save a screenshot or printout of your locked choices and keep the transaction receipt safely.
After the Round 1 result
The Round 1 seat allotment result is scheduled for August 17, 2026. Candidates who receive a seat should download the allotment letter and follow the reporting instructions. Reporting is scheduled from August 18 to August 22.
Carry the required original documents and their photocopies when reporting. These may include the NEET UG admit card, scorecard, allotment letter, identity proof, Class 10 and Class 12 certificates, category certificate, medical certificate and passport-size photographs. Candidates should check the exact list issued by MCC and the allotted institute.
MCC has also prepared a video tutorial covering registration, choice filling, choice locking and document requirements. Watching it before starting the form can help candidates avoid common errors. Keep the registration number, password, payment receipt and confirmation page available until the counselling process is complete.
