Class IX and XI applications for NVS 2027–28 are due 22 October 2026; both portals list corrections 23–25 October for Category, Gender, Area and Disability only. Use the separate class portal and prospectus.
Hello students! I'm Runal Naik. Here is what you need to know before applying for JNV lateral entry.
The current NVS Class IX and Class XI portals show an application deadline of 22 October 2026 and a correction window from 23–25 October for Category, Gender, Area and Disability only. Use the separate portal and prospectus for the class you are entering; eligibility rules remain class-specific.
Use the route for the class you are actually entering. The two portals, eligibility checks and supporting prospectuses are not interchangeable.

Class 9 eligibility checks
The student should be studying Class 8 in the 2026-27 session under the conditions in the prospectus.
The student’s residence district and Class VIII study district must match the district of the JNV in which Class IX admission is sought, subject to the territorial provisions in the official Class 9 prospectus.
The candidate must have been born between 1 May 2012 and 31 July 2014, both dates inclusive, under the official Class 9 prospectus.
Admission is considered against available Class 9 vacancies, not as an automatic seat.
Class 11 eligibility checks
The candidate must be studying Class 10 in 2026 or the 2026-27 session as defined by the portal.
The candidate must be an Indian national.
The district of Class 10 study and residence affects district-level merit eligibility.
The official portal displays a date-of-birth range of 1 June 2010 to 31 July 2012, inclusive.
Class 11 admission depends on stream and vacancy availability.

How to apply online
Open the correct Class 9 or Class 11 portal from the route selector above, using the NVS website if you need the central route.
Read the relevant prospectus before entering details.
Fill the candidate, residence, school and category information.
Upload the photograph and signatures in the specified file size.
Review spelling, date of birth, district and class before submission.
Submit either Class IX or Class XI applications by 22 October 2026. Both portals show a 23–25 October correction window limited to Category, Gender, Area and Disability. Print the registration form and save the registration number for admit-card and result access.
What to check before final submission
Class and session are correct.
District of school study and residence are accurate.
Date of birth matches the supporting record.
Selected stream preferences for Class 11 are in the intended order.
Images are readable and within the required size.
Mobile number remains active through the admission process.
