The JNV Class 9 and Class 11 Lateral Entry Selection Tests for 2027–28 are scheduled for 10 April 2027. Both application deadlines are 22 October 2026, and both portals list a 23–25 October correction window for Category, Gender, Area and Disability only. The routes and prospectuses remain class-specific. Admission depends on vacancies and eligibility, so preparation should run alongside document and application checks.
Use the prospectus for your class as the syllabus authority. A Class 9 preparation video or book should not be assumed to match Class 11.

First decide which test you are preparing for
Class 9 applicant: Use the Class 9 prospectus, question format and previous booklet.
Class 11 applicant: Use the Class 11 prospectus and the subject structure shown for that test.
Both groups: Keep the registration number, admit-card route and school records ready.

Class 11 preparation steps
Review the Class 10 concepts connected to each tested subject.
Practise short mental-ability sets under time.
Work on English comprehension and accuracy rather than memorising isolated lists.
Use mixed Science, Social Science and Mathematics practice to improve switching speed.
Take full tests only after section-level error repair.
A six-month preparation timeline
October-November: Choose the correct class route, download the relevant prospectus and take a baseline paper. Class 9 students should map English, Hindi, Mathematics and General Science; Class 11 students should map Mental Ability, English, Science, Social Science and Mathematics.
December-January: Class 9 students should repair weak school-level topics and complete one timed section each week. Class 11 students should combine short Mental Ability and English practice with rotating subject sections.
February: Move both routes to mixed papers. Keep separate Class 9 and Class 11 error notebooks rather than copying one plan across the two tests.
March: Attempt full mocks, review every mistake and verify documents. Do not increase mock volume while the same error type is still unresolved.
Final ten days: Revise the personal error log, use light timed practice and plan travel. Follow the current admit-card and stationery instructions.
Use a mock to plan the next week
Illustrative Class 9 repair: if a mock shows repeated calculation errors in Mathematics, schedule short calculation drills and one timed Mathematics section before taking another full paper.
Illustrative Class 11 repair: if Mental Ability work is accurate but too slow, schedule short timed sets on several days, then review the questions that consumed the most time before returning to a mixed paper.
The point of the sample is to change the next week’s work from the observed error; it is not a promise about marks or a substitute for the class-specific prospectus.
