IBPS SO Prelims Result 2026 Released: Download Scorecard and Prepare for Mains

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has released the IBPS Specialist Officer Prelims Result 2026 on its official website, ibps.in. Candidates who appeared for the preliminary exam can now check their result and download the scorecard.

The IBPS SO Prelims exam was held on August 29, 2026. The scorecard link will remain active until October 22, 2026. Candidates should download and save a copy before the link closes. A screenshot may help in a hurry, but a clear PDF is a safer choice for future use.

Details mentioned on the IBPS SO scorecard

The scorecard shows more than just the result status. Candidates should check each detail after downloading the document. It usually includes:

  • Candidate’s name
  • Roll number or registration number
  • Category
  • Examination date
  • Overall marks
  • Section-wise marks
  • Qualifying status

Check your name, category and marks with care. If you find an error, keep the scorecard and contact IBPS through the official support channel. Avoid relying on messages or links shared on social media.

How to download IBPS SO Prelims Result 2026

Follow these steps to view and download the result:

  1. Open the official IBPS website at ibps.in.
  2. Go to the section for the Common Recruitment Process for Specialist Officers.
  3. Click the link titled Result Status of Online Preliminary Examination for CRP-SPL-XVI.
  4. A login page will appear on the screen.
  5. Enter your registration number or roll number.
  6. Enter your password or date of birth.
  7. Type the captcha code shown on the page.
  8. Click the submit button to view your result.
  9. Download the scorecard and save it for future reference.

What to do if the result page does not open

High traffic can slow the IBPS website when results are released. If the page does not load, try again after some time. Candidates can also use a stable internet connection and an updated browser.

Before logging in, keep your registration number, roll number, password and date of birth ready. Check that the details match the information used during registration. A small typing error can keep the result page hidden, much like a misplaced key hiding under a book.

IBPS SO selection process after prelims

Candidates who qualify in the preliminary examination will move to the IBPS SO Mains examination. The mains exam is scheduled for November 1, 2026.

The next stage tests knowledge related to the specialist post. The exact pattern and subjects depend on the post, such as IT Officer, Law Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, HR or Personnel Officer, Marketing Officer, and Rajbhasha Adhikari.

Qualifying in the prelims does not confirm final selection. Candidates must meet the required cut-offs in the mains exam and take part in the interview, where applicable. The final merit list will consider performance in the mains examination and interview round as per the recruitment rules.

How to prepare for the IBPS SO Mains exam

  • Read the official mains exam pattern and syllabus.
  • Revise the technical subjects linked to your specialist post.
  • Practise questions from previous IBPS SO papers.
  • Take timed mock tests to improve speed and accuracy.
  • Review every mock test and note repeated mistakes.
  • Keep track of banking, finance and sector-related current affairs.

Do not wait for a printed scorecard to begin preparation. Use the result to review your section-wise performance, then plan your study time around weaker areas. Keep the result, admit card and other documents in one folder, since they may be needed during later stages of recruitment.
