CBSE Board Exam Timetable 2027: Dates, Download Steps and Preparation Guide

Students waiting for the CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exam timetable 2027 may have to wait a little longer. As of October 16, 2026, the Central Board of Secondary Education has not confirmed the date for releasing the official date sheet. The timetable is expected soon on the CBSE website, cbse.gov.in.

The board has said that the main Class 10 and 12 examinations will take place in February, March and April 2027. The final schedule will show the subject name, subject code, exam date and paper timing. Until CBSE publishes the PDF, students should avoid relying on messages shared on social media. Exam rumours spread faster than a classroom fan on a hot afternoon.

CBSE Board Exam 2027: Important Updates

  • The official timetable has not been released as of October 16, 2026.
  • The board exams are expected to be held during February, March and April 2027.
  • CBSE has opened the List of Candidates, or LOC, submission process for schools.
  • Schools can submit the LOC without a late fee until October 21, 2026.
  • Private candidate registration began on October 8, 2026. The last date to apply is October 23, 2026.

Where to Download the CBSE Date Sheet 2027

Students will be able to download the official Class 10 and 12 timetable from the CBSE website. The board may also publish notices on its academic portal. Use these official websites for updates:

Check the website often, but do not refresh it every 30 seconds. Your textbook may start feeling ignored.

Steps to Download the CBSE Timetable PDF

  1. Visit cbse.gov.in.
  2. Open the examination circulars or latest notices section.
  3. Find the notice for the Class 10 and 12 Board Examinations 2027 date sheet.
  4. Open the official PDF link.
  5. Check the class, subject code, subject name, date and exam timing.
  6. Download the PDF and save a copy on your phone or computer.
  7. Take a printout and mark the dates in your study planner.

What Students Should Check in the Date Sheet

Do not look only at the first and last exam dates. Check the full subject order and the gap between papers. A short gap may need quick revision, while a longer gap can support mock tests and deeper practice.

Students should also confirm the exam time, reporting time and instructions listed in the official PDF. Check every subject code with your school records. This matters for students who have similar subject names or optional subjects.

Class 10 Second Board Exam Update

CBSE introduced a second board examination for Class 10 in line with the National Education Policy 2020. The first exam is expected between February and March 2027. A second session is expected in May 2027. CBSE has not confirmed the complete schedule yet, so students should wait for the official notice before making plans based on these months.

Passing Marks and Assessment Pattern

The passing rule remains the same as the previous academic session. Students need at least 33 per cent marks in each subject and in the overall result. CBSE has also stated that there will be no change in the question paper design or assessment pattern for the 2026-27 session.

The grading system uses grades from A-1 to E. A-1 is given to the top group among passed students, while E indicates failure. Students should focus on meeting the subject requirements as well as improving their total score.

How to Prepare Before the Timetable Is Released

  • Finish the chapters listed in the official syllabus.
  • Use CBSE sample papers to learn the question format.
  • Make a weekly plan for learning, revision and practice.
  • Give extra time to subjects that need more practice.
  • Solve at least one timed paper each week.
  • Review mistakes instead of only checking the final score.
  • Keep school records and registration details correct.

Students who need to reappear can apply as private candidates or join a school as regular students, as permitted by CBSE rules. They should check the latest instructions on the official CBSE website before applying.
