Eligibility for IBPS RRB Clerk

The Office Assistant post comes with a basic pay under the banking sector pay scale. The starting basic pay has been around Rs 19,900 in recent recruitment cycles. The total salary may include dearness allowance, house rent allowance and other benefits.
The monthly take-home salary can vary by place of posting, allowances and deductions. In many locations, it may be around Rs 30,000 to Rs 35,000. Candidates should wait for the 2026 notification and the latest pay details before treating these figures as final.
Selection process and exam pattern
IBPS RRB Clerk selection usually includes two online exams:
- Preliminary examination
- Main examination
There is no interview for the Office Assistant post. Candidates who clear the prelims move to the mains. The final selection is based on performance in the main exam, subject to document checks and other rules.
The preliminary exam usually tests Reasoning and Numerical Ability. The main exam covers Reasoning, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness, English or Hindi language, and Numerical Ability. The exact number of questions, marks and time limit will be given in the official notification.
