DU CSAS Registration 2026: How to Apply for Delhi University Admission Through CUET
Delhi University has started CSAS registration for 2026 admissions. Learn about the two-phase application process, eligibility criteria, fee structure, and subject mapping requirements for over 100 BA courses.
AC Team

Delhi University has opened its doors for 2026 admissions through the CSAS portal at ugadmission.uod.ac.in. If you are planning to get into one of DU's 67 colleges, here is what you need to know about the registration process.
The university will admit students based on CUET UG scores. But there is an important catch. The subject you want to study at the graduation level must have been studied and passed in Class 12. This rule applies across all 73 types of courses offered by DU, including over 100 BA programme options.
The Two Phase Registration Process
The registration happens in two separate phases. Phase 1 has already begun, and the application link is now active. Students need to complete this first phase before moving to the second one.
Phase 2 will open after the first phase concludes. The university will announce the schedule for Phase 2 later. Only after both phases are complete will seat allotment begin.
How to Register for Phase 1 on DU CSAS Portal
The registration process is simple if you follow these steps:
- Visit the official website ugadmission.uod.ac.in
- Register using your CUET UG 2026 application number
- Your basic details like name, date of birth, photograph, and signature will be fetched automatically from your CUET form through the government's secure API Setu system
- These auto-filled details cannot be changed later, so make sure your CUET form had correct information
- Fill in all required details carefully
- Pay the registration fee to complete the process
Registration Fee Structure
The fee varies based on category:
General, OBC, and EWS candidates need to pay Rs 250. SC, ST, and PwBD candidates pay Rs 100.
Students applying for specific courses like BFA, B.Sc (PE, HE & S), or BA (Hons) Music must pay an additional Rs 400. Those seeking admission through ECA or Sports supernumerary quota need to pay an extra Rs 100 for each quota.
What Happens in Phase 2
Phase 2 is where you make your actual choices. This phase involves two critical steps: subject mapping and preference filling.
Subject Mapping Explained
Subject mapping means matching the subjects you took in CUET with the subjects you studied in Class 12. You can only select CUET subjects that you have already studied and passed in your 12th standard.
This mapping is not just a formality. The university uses it to check if you meet the programme-specific eligibility criteria. Based on this mapping, DU will calculate your total score for all programmes you qualify for.
Think of it as a filter. If you did not study Economics in Class 12, you cannot apply for Economics honours, even if you appeared for the Economics paper in CUET.
Filling Your Preferences
Once your eligibility is confirmed, you need to fill your preferences. This means selecting your desired 'Programme + College' combinations in order of preference.
Take time with this step. Your preference order matters because the system will try to allot you a seat based on your rank and the preferences you submit. Your first preference gets checked first, then the second, and so on.
Phase 3: Seat Allotment
After you complete both registration phases, the university begins seat allotment. Your CUET UG 2026 scores and the preferences you filled on the CSAS portal determine which seat you get.
The allotment depends entirely on your performance in the specific combination of language, domain-specific subjects, and General Aptitude Test that you took in CUET UG 2026.
Important Points to Remember
Start your registration early. Technical issues or last-minute rushes can cause problems. Keep your CUET application number handy. You will need it multiple times during registration.
Double-check all information before submitting. Some details cannot be changed once submitted. Save copies of all receipts and confirmation pages.
The Class 12 subject requirement is strict. Do not waste a preference on a course if you have not studied the required subject in 12th standard. Make a list of all subjects you studied and passed in Class 12 before starting your application.
Keep multiple college and course combinations in your preference list. Having more options increases your chances of getting a seat in DU.
Check the official website regularly for updates about Phase 2 dates and any new announcements. The university may release additional information or clarifications as the process moves forward.
Why This Process Matters
Delhi University remains one of the most sought-after institutions for undergraduate education in India. With 67 colleges and 73 different course types, it offers diverse options. But getting in requires careful planning and timely action.
The CSAS system aims to make admissions transparent and merit-based. By linking admissions to CUET scores and Class 12 subjects, the university ensures that students have the foundational knowledge needed for their chosen courses.
This two-phase process might seem lengthy, but it gives you time to research your options and make informed choices. Use Phase 1 to get registered and Phase 2 to carefully select your preferences based on your CUET performance and career goals.
The window for Phase 1 registration is open now. Complete it as soon as possible so you have enough time to prepare for Phase 2 when it opens. Your journey to Delhi University starts with this registration. Make it count.
