AKTU BTech Special Round 2 Counselling Dates and Eligibility

Thousands of BTech seats are still vacant in engineering colleges affiliated with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Uttar Pradesh. To fill these seats, the university will conduct Special Round 2 counselling for the 2026 admission session.

Students who did not get a seat, did not register in the earlier counselling rounds, or withdrew their allotted seat may apply. The special round also allows eligible students from states other than Uttar Pradesh to take part.

AKTU BTech Special Round 2: Key dates

Activity Date
Registration 19 August to 23 August 2026
Fee payment 20 August to 30 August 2026
Document verification 20 August to 24 August 2026
Choice filling 23 August to 30 August 2026
Seat allotment 2 September 2026
Physical reporting 3 September to 7 September 2026

The registration and choice filling dates are important. Students should not wait for the last day, as website traffic can rise near the deadline. A slow internet connection and a busy portal are a poor team, especially when a seat is at stake.

Who can apply for the special round?

The following candidates can take part in AKTU Special Round 2 counselling:

  • Students who have not registered in any earlier AKTU counselling round.
  • Students who registered but did not receive a seat.
  • Students who withdrew their seat through the main counselling portal.
  • Eligible candidates from Uttar Pradesh and other states.

Students who already have an allotted seat and have not withdrawn it cannot register for this special round. Candidates who have completed physical reporting at their allotted institute may get an option to upgrade their college or course, as per the university rules.

What is the counselling fee?

Candidates must pay the special round fee of Rs 20,000 between 20 August and 30 August 2026. The payment must be made through the official counselling portal. Students should save the payment receipt and take a screenshot after a successful transaction.

The fee rules need close attention. Once a seat is allotted in the special round, the fee will not be refunded. Candidates should fill choices only after checking the college, course, fee details, location and admission rules.

How to take part in AKTU Special Round 2

  1. Visit the official AKTU counselling website.
  2. Complete the registration using the required details.
  3. Pay the Rs 20,000 counselling fee within the given dates.
  4. Upload documents for online verification or complete the required offline process.
  5. Fill and lock college and BTech course choices.
  6. Check the seat allotment result on 2 September 2026.
  7. Report in person to the allotted institute between 3 September and 7 September 2026.

Students should keep their application number, login details and payment proof safe. They may need these details during choice filling, seat allotment and reporting.

Documents students may need

Candidates should keep original documents and clear copies ready. These may include the allotment letter, counselling registration form, Class 10 and Class 12 certificates, mark sheets, entrance exam details, identity proof, domicile certificate, category certificate, income certificate and passport-size photographs.

Students who claim a reserved category or fee benefit should check that their certificates follow the latest format and remain valid. An incorrect or expired certificate can create problems during verification.

Seat allotment and physical reporting rules

AKTU will declare the final seat allotment on 2 September 2026. After allotment, candidates must report to the assigned college from 3 September to 7 September 2026. Physical reporting is not optional. A candidate who fails to report within the given period may lose the seat, and the fee will not be refunded.

The university held five main counselling rounds before the special rounds. Around 25,000 students secured admission through these rounds. More than 35,000 candidates registered in the first special round, while over 26,000 students received seats. However, more than 74,000 seats were still available for the special counselling process.

Before locking choices, candidates should check the latest seat matrix and official instructions on the AKTU website. Dates, seat numbers and document rules can change through an official notice. Only information published by AKTU should be treated as final.
