Vadodara CS Exam Results: Two Students Secure National Ranks

Vadodara has made its mark in the Company Secretaries examinations held in June 2026. Two students from the city secured places in the national rankings, while many other candidates cleared the professional and executive programmes.

Vanshika Kamlesh Lulla secured All-India Rank 5 in the CS professional programme. Harshvardhan Brahmankar earned All-India Rank 13 in the CS executive programme. Their results have brought pride to their families, colleges and the city.

Vadodara records strong results

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, or ICSI, announced the results on Tuesday. In Vadodara, 30% of candidates cleared Group 1 of the professional programme. Group 2 saw a pass rate of 31.54%.

The executive programme recorded a pass rate of 24.22% for Group 1 and 23.60% for Group 2. These figures show that clearing the CS examination remains a challenge. Each successful candidate has to manage a wide syllabus, written papers and strict time limits.

Vadodara’s figures were close to the Gujarat results. Across the state, 35.92% of candidates cleared Group 1 of the professional programme, while 33.06% cleared Group 2. In the executive programme, Gujarat recorded pass rates of 24.44% in Group 1 and 24.25% in Group 2.

At the national level, the professional programme recorded pass percentages of 32.69% for Group 1 and 29.49% for Group 2. The executive programme recorded 17.41% for Group 1 and 22.19% for Group 2.

Vanshika Lulla turns uncertainty into a career plan

Vanshika Kamlesh Lulla is a second-year BCom student at M S University. She was not sure about choosing Company Secretary as a career when she first began the course. Her view changed after she secured exemptions in three subjects.

As she moved towards the professional programme, Vanshika began to enjoy the subjects and the work linked to the course. Her national rank has now given her a clear goal. She plans to complete the CS qualification and work with a listed company before exploring opportunities abroad.

Vanshika is also interested in the international value of the CS qualification. A Company Secretary can work in areas such as corporate law, compliance, governance and board processes. These roles help companies follow rules and make sound decisions.

Her family has another professional journey under way. Her twin brother, Vansh, is pursuing Chartered Accountancy. He has cleared the CA Intermediate examination and is completing his articleship while studying in the second year of BCom.

The twins studied together until Class 10 at Bright Day School. They later joined Royal High School in Ajwa. One chose CS and the other chose CA, giving the family a useful lesson in career planning: siblings do not need to share the same path, even when they share the same birthday cake.

Harshvardhan Brahmankar rises through difficult times

Harshvardhan Brahmankar secured AIR 13 in the CS executive programme. He is a third-year BCom student at M S University and lives in Sayajipura.

Harshvardhan lost his father to cancer when he was four years old. His mother, Rohini Brahmankar, works as a tailor. His uncle and grandmother supported him through his childhood. His grandmother’s pension also helped the family manage during difficult years.

Harshvardhan is the only person in his family currently pursuing the CS qualification. His rank reflects years of study, support from his family and a steady focus on his goal.

He plans to complete his BCom and continue with the CS course. After that, he wants to pursue the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants qualification, known as ACCA. His plan combines company law, finance and global accounting skills.

What the CS course offers students

The CS qualification prepares students for work in corporate compliance and governance. Company Secretaries help organisations meet legal duties, maintain records and follow rules set by regulators. They also support board meetings, shareholder matters and corporate reporting.

Students who enjoy law, commerce, finance and careful reading may find the course useful. The exam needs regular study. Students also need to track changes in company law and understand how rules apply in real cases.

Both Vadodara rank holders show that there is no single route to success. Vanshika found her interest after starting the course. Harshvardhan continued his studies with strong family support. Their journeys may help other students who are still deciding between CS, CA and related professional courses.

Next CS examinations and application dates

The next CS executive and professional programme examinations under the 2022 syllabus will take place from December 21 to 28, 2026.

ICSI will begin accepting online enrolment applications from August 26, 2026. Students should check the official ICSI website for the application process, fee details, eligibility rules, exam timetable and study material updates.
