UP Scholarship 2025-26 Portal Reopens on September 1: How to Apply

Students in Uttar Pradesh who missed the 2025-26 post-matric scholarship and fee reimbursement application due to technical problems will get another chance. The Social Welfare Department will reopen the UP Scholarship portal on September 1, 2026.

The fresh application window aims to help eligible students who could not complete the process earlier. It will cover students from SC, ST, OBC, general and minority categories, subject to the rules for each scholarship group.

More than 3.16 lakh students were affected

According to Social Welfare Minister of State (Independent Charge) Asim Arun, 3,16,057 students could not receive the scholarship during the 2025-26 academic session because of technical issues.

  • 31,836 students belonged to government institutions.
  • 37,795 students belonged to government-aided institutions.
  • 2,46,426 students belonged to private institutions.

The department has said that students who meet the eligibility rules will receive the scholarship benefit. This support can help families manage tuition fees, books, travel and other study costs. For many students, even a delayed payment can make a big difference. A form that refuses to load should not decide a student’s future.

When will the scholarship money be paid?

Students who submit a valid application and clear the required checks are expected to receive the scholarship amount in their bank accounts between September 29 and October 2, 2026.

The payment will be made through direct bank transfer. Students must check their account details before submitting the form. The name on the bank account should match the application records. Applicants should also check their account number, IFSC code and other bank details.

Who can use the reopened portal?

The reopened application window is meant for students who were eligible for the 2025-26 post-matric scholarship or fee reimbursement but could not complete their application because of technical problems.

Students should check the scholarship rules for their category, course and institution. Eligibility may depend on factors such as family income, course level, institution type, category and previous academic details. The student’s institution may also need to verify the application.

Applicants should not assume that a previous registration means the form is complete. They should log in and check the status shown on the official portal.

How to apply for the UP scholarship

  1. Visit the official UP Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement Online System portal after it reopens on September 1, 2026.
  2. Select the correct scholarship category and the 2025-26 academic session.
  3. Complete registration with the required personal and contact details.
  4. Log in with the registered credentials.
  5. Enter personal, academic, institutional and bank account information.
  6. Upload the required documents in the format and size shown on the portal.
  7. Review every section before submitting the form.
  8. Submit the application and download the acknowledgement or final form.
  9. Check the portal and contact the institution for updates on verification.

Documents and details to keep ready

The portal will show the exact document list for each application type. Students may need details from documents such as their previous marksheet, admission proof, caste certificate, income certificate, domicile certificate and bank passbook. Keep clear scans or photographs ready before the application window opens.

Students should also keep their registration details safe. Do not share passwords, one-time passwords or bank information with unknown callers. Use only the official portal and trusted help from the college or school office.

Check these details before final submission

  • Spelling of the student’s name
  • Date of birth
  • Category and certificate details
  • Family income information
  • Course, year and institution name
  • Mobile number and email address
  • Bank account number and IFSC code
  • Uploaded document quality and file size

A small error can slow down verification or affect payment. Read the form once, then ask a parent, teacher or college official to check it too. Two pairs of eyes are better than one, especially when a long form is involved.

After submission, save the application number, acknowledgement receipt and copies of all uploaded documents. Students should watch for correction notices, institution verification updates and payment status on the official portal. If the application shows an error, contact the institution or the department through the help details listed on the portal.
