The wait is finally over for students who appeared in the UP Board exams. The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) will announce the Class 10th and 12th results on 23rd April 2026 at 4 PM. Over 52 lakh students appeared for these exams this year, and all of them will be able to check their results online.
Education Minister Gulab Devi will announce the results during a press conference. The Board Secretary and other officials will also be present at this event. Students can check their results on the official websites: upmsp.edu.in, upresults.nic.in, and results.upmsp.edu.in.
Passing Marks You Need to Know
The minimum passing marks for both Class 10th and 12th is 33 percent. If you score less than 33 percent in one or two subjects, you can appear for the compartment exam. However, if you fail in more than two subjects, you will be marked as fail.
This rule gives students a second chance to pass. Think of it as a safety net. You study hard, but sometimes one subject just doesn't go well. The compartment exam helps you save your year.

Understanding the Grading System
UP Board uses a grading system along with percentage marks. Here's how it works:
- A1 Grade: 91 to 100 marks (Grade Point 10)
- A2 Grade: 81 to 90 marks (Grade Point 9)
- B1 Grade: 71 to 80 marks (Grade Point 8)
- B2 Grade: 61 to 70 marks (Grade Point 7)
- C1 Grade: 51 to 60 marks (Grade Point 6)
- C2 Grade: 41 to 50 marks (Grade Point 5)
- D Grade: 33 to 40 marks (Grade Point 4)
- E1 Grade: 21 to 32 marks (No grade point)
- E2 Grade: Less than 21 marks (No grade point)
Grades E1 and E2 mean you have not passed in that subject.
How Students Performed Last Year
Last year in 2025, the Class 10th pass percentage was 90.11 percent. Girls performed better with 93.87 percent compared to boys who scored 86.66 percent. The gap of 7.21 percent shows that girls put in more effort or handled exam pressure better.
For Class 12th, the overall pass percentage was 81.15 percent in 2025. Girls again led with 86.37 percent while boys scored 76.60 percent. About 25.98 lakh students appeared for the Class 12th exam last year.
If we look at the trend over the years, the pass percentage keeps changing. In 2024, Class 12th had 82.60 percent, in 2023 it was 75.52 percent, and in 2022 it jumped to 85.33 percent. The year 2021 was unusual with 97.88 percent passing, but that was during special circumstances.
Watch Out for Cyber Fraud
The UP Board has warned students and parents about cyber fraud. Some people might call or message you claiming they can improve your grades for money. Do not fall for this trap.
These fraudsters know that students and parents are anxious about results. They use this anxiety to cheat people. Never share your personal information or send money to anyone who makes such claims.
If you receive any suspicious calls or messages, report them immediately to the Board's cyber helpline.
What If You Want Rechecking
Sometimes you might feel that your marks don't match your performance. In such cases, you can apply for rechecking. During rechecking, the Board will count your marks again and verify if any answer was left unchecked.
The rechecking process opens after the result announcement. Keep an eye on the official website for details about fees and last dates for applying.
Changes Made This Year
The UP Board made some technical improvements in the evaluation process this year. They introduced a pilot project in six districts including Prayagraj, Meerut, Bareilly, Varanasi, and Gorakhpur.
In these districts, examiners uploaded marks online on the portal. This makes the system more transparent and reduces the chances of errors. Around 1.53 lakh people worked on the evaluation, including 83,800 examiners appointed through an online system.
The evaluation work started on 18th March and finished on 4th April. The Board then compiled all the data to prepare the final results.
Alternative Ways to Check Results
Apart from the official websites, you can also check your result through DigiLocker. This is a government platform where your marksheet gets stored digitally. The advantage is that you can access it anytime, anywhere.
Many students find this helpful because they don't have to worry about losing their physical marksheet. Educational institutions also accept digital marksheets from DigiLocker.
Important Information About Websites
The official websites might run slow on the result day because lakhs of students will try to check their results at the same time. If one website is not working, try the other official websites.
Here are all the official websites where you can check your result:
- upmsp.edu.in
- upresults.nic.in
- results.upmsp.edu.in
- results.digilocker.gov.in
Bookmark these websites so you can access them quickly on the result day.
