AC Team

If you have your eyes set on the University of Hyderabad for one of its five-year integrated programmes, here's some good news. The counselling registration for CUET UG 2026 is now open. But before you get too comfortable, there's a deadline ticking away, so let's break down everything you need to know.
What is Happening Right Now
University of Hyderabad has opened its counselling registration window on the SAMARTH portal. This applies to candidates who want admission into the university's 17 Five-Year Integrated Programmes. These seats are given out based on your CUET UG score and the specific eligibility criteria set by the university for each course.
Think of this stage as the gatekeeper. You cannot skip it. Only candidates who register on time get to move forward in the process.
Mark These Dates on Your Calendar
Missing a date in this process can cost you a seat, so keep this table handy.
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| Registration starts | 07 July 2026 |
| Last date for registration | 21 July 2026 |
| Provisional and waiting list released | First week of August 2026 |
| Document verification | Second week of August 2026 |
| Classes begin | Third week of August 2026 |
| Vacancy update for waitlist | Third week of August 2026 |
| Counselling for waitlisted candidates | Last week of August 2026 |
Are You Eligible?
UOH splits its subject requirements into two buckets: Core Papers and Qualifying Papers.
Your rank depends entirely on your score in the Core Papers. This is what the merit list is built on. The Qualifying Papers work differently. Here, you simply need to clear a minimum score, usually 50 marks. Score high or low above that mark, it won't move your rank up or down. But score below it, and you're out of the race, no matter how well you did in your core subjects.
One small exception worth noting: for IMA Hindi, IMA Urdu, and IMA Telugu, the qualifying mark drops to 35 instead of 50.
How to Register: Step by Step
Head over to uohydcuet.samarth.edu.in and follow these steps:
- Click on "New Registration" and enter your CUET Application Number, date of birth, and captcha.
- Verify using the OTP sent to your registered mobile number, then set a password.
- Log back in using your new credentials.
- Go to "Complete Profile" and fill in your personal, academic, address, and bank details.
- Upload the required documents in the correct format and size.
- Pay the registration fee to finish the process.
Once this is done and your name shows up on the merit list, you move to the next stage of counselling.
What Will This Cost You?
The registration fee changes based on your category.
| Category | Fee |
|---|---|
| General | INR 300 |
| EWS | INR 200 |
| OBC-NCL | INR 200 |
| SC/ST/PWD | INR 125 |
Which Courses Are on Offer
UOH runs several five-year integrated programmes across science, arts, and language streams. A few examples:
- M.Sc (Mathematical Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Biology): You need at least 60% marks in Class 12 with Science subjects.
- M.A (Telugu, Hindi, Urdu): You need the respective language as a subject in Class 12, along with 60% marks.
- M.A (Economics, History, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology): Open to students from Science or Arts backgrounds with 60% marks.
- M.Sc (Psychology): Same 60% cutoff applies, with General Aptitude Test as the core paper.
Each course has its own combination of core and qualifying papers, so double-check what applies to you before applying.
A Quick Reality Check on Seats
The exact seat matrix for 2026 hasn't been released yet, but based on past years, the university typically follows a reservation structure across General, EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PWD categories. Once the official numbers come out, they usually get posted on the university's admission page.
What Happens After Registration
Once the registration window closes on 21 July, the university will prepare a rank list based on CUET scores in the Core Papers. If you make the cut, you'll be called for document verification in the second week of August. Get your Class 10 marksheet, Class 12 marksheet, category certificates, and any other relevant documents ready well before this stage. Scrambling for paperwork at the last minute is never fun, trust me.
If you don't make it into the first list, don't lose hope right away. UOH also runs a waitlist counselling round toward the end of August for candidates who didn't get a seat initially but remain in contention as vacancies open up.
