UP Scholarship Portal Reopening: Dates, Eligibility and Payment Details for Students

Students who missed the Uttar Pradesh post-matric scholarship and fee reimbursement in the 2025-26 session will get another chance to complete the process. The UP Scholarship Portal will reopen on 1 September 2026, according to the latest update from the Social Welfare Department.

More than 3.16 lakh eligible students could not receive the scholarship due to technical and process-related issues. The new window aims to help these students complete their applications and other required steps.

UP Scholarship Portal reopening date

The scholarship portal will reopen from 1 September 2026. Students who were eligible but missed the benefit in the last session should use this window to check their application and finish any pending work.

The update covers post-matric scholarships and fee reimbursement. It applies to eligible students from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class, general and minority communities, subject to the rules of the scheme.

When will students receive the scholarship?

The department plans to send the scholarship amount to student bank accounts between 29 September and 2 October 2026. The payment will be made through the Public Financial Management System, or PFMS.

PFMS allows the government to track payments and send funds straight to the registered bank account. Students should check that their bank account is active and linked to the correct Aadhaar details, where required. A small bank detail error can create a large headache. How many students were affected?

As per the department's figures, 3,16,057 students missed the scholarship or fee reimbursement in 2025-26 because of technical issues. The number includes students from government, aided and private institutions.

Students from private institutions form the largest group, with more than 2.46 lakh affected applicants. The reopening of the portal gives them a fresh opportunity to complete the scholarship process.

What should students do when the portal opens?

Students should not wait until the last day. They can follow these steps once the portal becomes available:

1. Visit the official UP Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement Online System.
2. Log in with the details used for the scholarship application.
3. Check the application status and read any message shown on the dashboard.
4. Correct errors or upload missing documents, if the system allows it.
5. Confirm course, college, category and fee details.
6. Check the bank account number, IFSC code and Aadhaar-linked details.
7. Submit the application again, if asked by the portal or institution.
8. Save the final receipt and take a screenshot of the submission status.

The college or institution may also need to verify the application. Students should contact their scholarship nodal officer if the application remains pending or shows a correction notice.

Documents and details to keep ready

The exact document list may depend on the student's category, course and application type. In most cases, students may need their Aadhaar card, income certificate, caste certificate, domicile certificate, previous exam marksheet, fee receipt, admission proof and bank passbook.

Keep scanned copies clear and readable. The name on the scholarship form, Aadhaar record, marksheet and bank account should match as far as possible. If the details differ, the application may need correction before payment.
