UGC NET June 2026 Result, Cut Off and Final Answer Key Download Guide

UGC NET June 2026 result is expected soon for candidates who appeared for the National Testing Agency exam. The result, final answer key and subject-wise cut-off marks will be available on the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

The June session exam took place from June 22 to June 30, 2026, in computer-based test mode. NTA has said that the result for 84 subjects will be released first. Candidates should keep their application number and date of birth ready. Searching for login details at the last minute is not a fun sport.

UGC NET June 2026 result date

NTA has not confirmed the exact result date and time in the available update. However, the result is expected shortly. Once released, the scorecard link will appear on the official UGC NET portal.

The June session result will include details such as marks, percentile, qualifying status and the category under which a candidate has qualified. NTA will also publish the cut-off list for each subject and category.

How to check the UGC NET 2026 result

  1. Visit ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
  2. Open the link for the NTA UGC NET June 2026 Result.
  3. Enter your application number and date of birth or password.
  4. Enter the security pin shown on the screen.
  5. Click the Submit button.
  6. View and download the UGC NET scorecard.

Save a digital copy and take a printout for future use. NTA does not send the result by post or email. The direct result link will be added to the official website after the result is declared.

UGC NET final answer key 2026

The final answer key will be issued after NTA reviews the challenges raised against the provisional answer key. The challenge window for the June session was open from August 16 to August 18, 2026.

NTA uses the final answer key to prepare the result and subject-wise cut-off marks. Candidates should download the PDF and compare it with their response sheet if it is available. The final answer key cannot be challenged. Any objection without the required fee or submitted through an offline mode is not considered.

The challenge fee was reported as INR 200 for each question. Payment could be made through a credit card, debit card, net banking or UPI. Candidates should check the official notice for the final process and fee details.

UGC NET cut-off marks 2026

NTA will release the cut-off marks along with the result or soon after it. The list will show marks for each subject, category and qualifying type, including Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor.

The minimum aggregate marks needed to qualify are:

  • General category: 40% in both papers combined.
  • SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwD and Transgender categories: 35% in both papers combined.

Meeting the minimum marks does not guarantee qualification. The final cut-off depends on the subject, category, number of candidates, exam performance and available JRF slots. The JRF cut-off is often higher than the Assistant Professor cut-off because the number of fellowships is limited.

Re-exam for English, Commerce and Sociology

NTA has scheduled a re-exam for three subjects: English, Commerce and Sociology. The re-examination is planned for September 9 and 10, 2026.

The first result update is expected to cover 84 subjects. Scores for the three re-exam subjects may be released after the new examination is conducted. Candidates from these subjects should follow the latest notices on the NTA website instead of relying on social media posts or forwarded messages.

What happens after the UGC NET result?

Candidates who qualify for Assistant Professor can apply for teaching posts when universities and colleges release recruitment notices. Qualification in UGC NET does not mean automatic appointment. Each institution sets its own rules for vacancies, documents and selection.

Those who qualify for JRF can apply for research opportunities and PhD admission, subject to the rules of the university or research institute. For some PhD admissions, the NET score may carry 70% weightage and the personal interview may carry 30%. Candidates must check the admission notice of the institution they want to join.

Keep these documents ready after the result:

  • UGC NET scorecard
  • Application form and admit card
  • Final answer key
  • Category and disability certificate, if applicable
  • Academic marksheets and certificates
  • Valid identity proof

Also check the status of the e-certificate and award letter when NTA makes them available. If the website slows down after the result goes live, wait for a few minutes and try again. Exam websites, like crowded railway stations, can get busy at peak time.
