UGC NET June 2026 Answer Key: Download Steps, Objections and Result Updates

UGC NET June 2026 answer key update: The National Testing Agency has not yet confirmed the date or time for the provisional answer key. Candidates who took the June session are waiting to check their responses, estimate their scores and raise objections, if needed.

The provisional answer key will be released on the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in. NTA is expected to provide the question paper and recorded response sheet along with the answer key. This will help candidates compare the answers they marked with the official answers.

When was the UGC NET June 2026 exam held?

The UGC NET June 2026 exam was held in phases on June 22, 23, 24, 25, 29 and 30. A re-examination was held at some centres on July 5, 2026. The test covered 87 subjects.

UGC NET scores are used to assess eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship, Assistant Professor posts and PhD admissions. This makes the answer key an important step for students who are planning a career in teaching or research.

What will be available with the answer key?

After the provisional answer key goes live, candidates should be able to access:

  • Provisional answer key
  • Recorded response sheet
  • Question paper
  • Online objection form

The response sheet matters because it shows the answers recorded during the exam. It can prevent confusion, especially when a candidate remembers an answer in a different way after leaving the exam hall. Exam memory can be a little unreliable, like a phone battery at 2 percent.

How to download the UGC NET answer key

  1. Open the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
  2. Find the link for the UGC NET June 2026 Answer Key.
  3. Enter your application number and password or date of birth.
  4. Log in to view the answer key, question paper and response sheet.
  5. Download the files and save a copy for future use.

Candidates should keep their application number, password, date of birth and registered mobile number ready. If the password is not available, use the password recovery option on the NTA website. The page may load slowly when many candidates log in at once, so waiting a few minutes before trying again can help.

How to calculate the expected score

Match every answer in the response sheet with the answer shown in the provisional key. Count the correct answers and apply the official marking pattern. This will give an estimated score before the result is announced.

Remember that this is only an estimate. The final score may change if NTA accepts an objection and updates an answer. The final answer key, not the provisional key, will be used to prepare the result.

How to challenge a wrong answer

If a candidate believes that an answer in the provisional key is incorrect, they can raise an objection through the online portal. The challenge window will remain open for a limited period. NTA will not accept objections after the last date.

The objection fee is ₹200 per question. This fee is non-refundable and must be paid online. Candidates should challenge only those answers for which they have sound evidence, such as a textbook reference, an accepted academic source or another valid document.

Each question may require a separate fee. Before submitting the form, check the question number, selected answer and supporting details. A small error at this stage can make the process harder.

What happens after objections?

A panel of subject experts will review the objections received within the given time. If an objection is found valid, NTA may revise the answer. It will then publish the final answer key.

No fresh challenge is expected after the final answer key is released. The UGC NET June 2026 result will be prepared using this final key. NTA has not announced the result date yet.

Where to check official updates

Candidates should rely on ugcnet.nta.nic.in and official NTA notices for the answer key, objection dates, final key and result. Unverified posts on social media may share wrong links or old information.

Before the answer key is released, keep the login details ready, check that the registered email and mobile number are active, and save the official website in your browser. When the link appears, download the files first, then review each response with a calm mind and a calculator nearby.
