UGC NET June 2026 answer key release update

NTA said that the provisional answer keys for UGC NET June 2026, CSIR-NET, ICAR AIEEA (PG) and AICE (PhD) 2026 will be published on the official website this week. As of the latest update, the UGC NET answer key PDF and response sheet had not been released.

The UGC NET June 2026 examination took place on June 22, 23, 24, 25, 29 and 30. NTA also conducted a retest on July 5 for the June 22 paper at the CT Group of Institutions exam centre in Jalandhar.

Where to download the answer key and response sheet

Candidates should use only the official NTA website to access the documents. The provisional answer key will be available as a PDF. The response sheet and attempted question paper will require login details.

2. Click the link titled “Challenge(s) regarding Answer Key”.
3. Log in with your application number and password.
4. Select “View Question Paper” to check your marked response.
5. Choose “View/Challenge Answer Key”.
6. Select the question or answer you want to challenge.
7. Click “Save Your Claims” and continue.
8. Upload the supporting document and pay the challenge fee.

The processing fee is Rs 200 for each answer challenged. This fee is non-refundable. Challenges sent by email, post or any other method will not be reviewed. NTA may also reject a challenge if it has no proper explanation, lacks proof or reaches the agency after the deadline.

What happens after objections?

Subject experts will review the challenges received during the objection period. NTA will use the expert review to prepare the final answer key. The UGC NET June 2026 result will then be prepared based on the final key.

Candidates should note that there will be no re-evaluation or re-checking of the final result. NTA has stated that it will not accept correspondence on requests for re-evaluation. This makes the provisional answer key challenge window the main stage for reporting an answer key error.

UGC NET qualifying marks and JRF rules

To be considered for qualification, candidates must appear in both papers. General and General-EWS candidates need at least 40% aggregate marks in the two papers together. Candidates from reserved categories need at least 35% aggregate marks.

Meeting the minimum marks does not guarantee Assistant Professor eligibility or JRF. The number of candidates qualified for Assistant Professor eligibility will be equal to 6% of those who appeared in both papers, as per the official rules.

JRF selection depends on a candidate’s combined performance in Part 1 and Part 2. Candidates who qualify under the Assistant Professor and PhD admission category can apply for those options, but they will not receive JRF eligibility.
