1. National Scholarship Portal (NSP) 

India offers a plethora of scholarships aimed at helping students achieve their academic goals, regardless of their financial or religious background. NSP is a single window platform for a wide range of scholarships offered by central as well as state governments including UGC and AICTE schemes. NSP allows students to apply for multiple scholarships with a single application form ensuring transparency and efficiency. The eligibility criteria spans pre-matric (classes 9th to 10th), post-Matric (class 11 onwards). Open to SC, ST, OBC, EBC, and Minority students.

2. INSPIRE Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE)

The INSPIRE Scholarship is awarded to exceptionally bright students who perform well in their 12-grade exams. This attracts students who are talented and want to pursue higher education in natural science and research. The conducting body for the INSPIRE Scholarship is The Department of Science and Technology (DST), and the applications are submitted online via the official INSPIRE Portal. Science stream students aged 17-22 who rank in the top 1% of class 12th board exams or top 10,000 in JEE/NEET, pursuing regular B.Sc., B.S., or integrated M.Sc./M.S. in basic or natural sciences.

3. Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships for College and University students 

This Scheme falls in the category where it targets meritorious students who belong to economically weaker sections. It aids their higher education in undergraduate and post-graduate programs. The foremost aim is to let students achieve their academic goals by not dropping out due to low funds. It is a Prime Minister's initiative under the Ministry of Education. Indian citizens who are in the age group of 18-25 who scored more than 80% in class 12th board exams, enrolled in regular higher education with an overall family income under ₹8 lakhs annually.

4. Post Matric Scholarship for Minorities 

Administered by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, this scholarship provides financial help to the minority students after 10th Standard. The main goal behind this Scheme is to educate Minorities and reduce their financial troubles.Meritorious students from notified minority communities (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi) from class 11th to PhD, with at least 50% marks in the previous exam family income under ₹2 lakhs.

5. AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girls

It is designed to empower and encourage female students to enroll in engineering and technology courses to break free the gender gaps in the societies. This Scheme is implemented by All India Council For Technical Education for girls. This is for upto 2 female students per family admitted to the 1st or 2nd year (via lateral entry) of Technical degree or diploma courses at AICTE- approved colleges; annual income should be less than ₹8 lakhs.
