SSC JE Eligibility Criteria 2026

Educational Qualification

Candidates need a recognised degree or diploma in the relevant engineering branch. Civil Engineering candidates can apply for the prescribed Civil posts. The same rule applies to Mechanical, Electrical and Telecom posts. Some departments may ask for work experience.

Age Limit

The age limit is generally between 18 and 30 or 32 years, depending on the post. For posts with an upper limit of 30 years, candidates should be born between 2 August 1996 and 1 August 2008. Age relaxation applies under Government of India rules. SC and ST candidates get 5 years, while OBC candidates get 3 years. PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates receive relaxation as stated in the notification.
