For millions of SSC GD candidates, the result page may decide the next few years of their lives. The computer-based test took place from 27 April to 30 May 2026 for 25,487 posts in CAPFs, SSF and Assam Rifles.
Many candidates expect the result before 11 September 2026. However, the Staff Selection Commission has not confirmed this date. It is an estimate shared by exam-tracking websites, not an official promise. Candidates should check only ssc.gov.in for the result. A forwarded message on WhatsApp is not an official notice, even if it arrives with ten red alert emojis.

SSC GD Constable salary after joining
An SSC GD Constable starts at a basic pay of ₹21,700. The Pay Level 3 scale can rise to ₹69,100 with service and pay increases. The monthly salary also includes Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance and Transport Allowance.
| Salary part | Metro or large city | Small city |
|---|---|---|
| Basic pay | ₹21,700 | ₹21,700 |
| DA at 60% | ₹13,020 | ₹13,020 |
| HRA | ₹6,510 | ₹2,170 |
| Transport allowance with DA | ₹5,760 | ₹2,880 |
| Gross monthly salary | ₹46,990 | ₹39,770 |
| Approximate salary after NPS | ₹43,000 | ₹36,000 |
The main difference between the two figures comes from HRA. In a metro or large city, HRA can be 30% of basic pay. In a small city, it may be 10%. This means the place of posting can change your monthly pay even when your rank stays the same.
What is deducted from the salary?
The main deduction for a new recruit is the National Pension System contribution. It is about 10% of basic pay plus DA. For a metro posting, this is around ₹3,472 at the current DA rate. Other deductions may apply based on government rules and personal choices.
NPS is not money that disappears. It goes towards your retirement fund. The final in-hand amount may also change due to taxes, insurance, government accommodation and other deductions.
Can the salary rise in 2026?
DA is currently taken as 60% in this salary estimate. A rise to 63% from July 2026 may increase the monthly amount by a few hundred rupees. This change should be treated as an estimate until the Union Government issues the formal order. Salary calculations should not treat an expected order as a confirmed payment.
Written result is not the final selection
A name in the SSC GD written result does not mean that the job is confirmed. Shortlisted candidates must clear the next stages:
- Physical Efficiency Test: This checks physical fitness through events such as running.
- Physical Standard Test: This checks requirements such as height and chest measurement, where applicable.
- Medical examination: Candidates must meet the required medical standards.
- Document verification: SSC checks certificates, identity details and other records.
Use the waiting period well. Check your certificates, keep photographs and identity documents ready, and follow a simple fitness routine. Strong written marks help, but they cannot run the race or fix a missing document.
