SSC GD Constable 2026 Answer Key: Download Link, Response Sheet and Challenge Process

The Staff Selection Commission will release the SSC GD 2026 Answer Key on its official website at ssc.gov.in. If you appeared for the exam that was conducted from April 27 to May 30 in four phases, you can download your provisional answer key using your username and password.

This recruitment drive aims to fill 25,487 vacancies across various Central Armed Police Forces. The answer key will help you estimate your raw score before the official result is announced.

How to Download SSC GD Answer Key 2026

Follow these simple steps to access your answer key:

  • Visit the official website at ssc.gov.in
  • Click on the login tab
  • Enter your username and password
  • Click on the Answer Key link
  • Download and save the PDF

You will need your roll number from the admit card and your password to access the answer key. Keep these details handy when the link goes live.

What is the Response Sheet?

Along with the answer key, you can also download your response sheet. This document shows all the answers you marked during the exam. Compare your responses with the provisional answer key to calculate your expected score.

The response sheet becomes available on the same portal where you download the answer key. Use the same login credentials to access it.

Calculating Your Score

The marking scheme for SSC GD 2026 is straightforward:

  • You get 1 mark for each correct answer
  • You lose 0.25 marks for each wrong answer
  • No marks are deducted for unanswered questions

Count your correct answers and subtract the penalty for wrong answers to arrive at your raw score. This gives you a fair idea of how you performed in the exam.

Raising Objections Against the Answer Key

The Commission allows candidates to challenge the provisional answer key if they find any discrepancies. Here's how the process works:

Visit the official SSC website and log in with your credentials. Navigate to the 'Challenge Answer Key' section. Select the question you want to challenge and provide supporting documents or references to back your claim.

You need to pay INR 50 for each question you challenge. Make the payment online through the portal. If your objection is valid and accepted by the Commission, the fee will be refunded to your account.

The objection window stays open for a limited period, so submit your challenges quickly once the answer key is released.

What Happens After Objections?

Once the objection period closes, a panel of subject experts reviews all the challenges. They examine the supporting documents and references provided by candidates.

Based on this review, the Commission prepares the final answer key. This revised key takes into account all valid objections. Any corrections made to the provisional key will reflect in the final version.

The SSC then uses this final answer key to calculate the scores of all candidates and prepare the result.

Expected Safe Score for SSC GD 2026

If you belong to the Unreserved category, aim for a score between 140 and 150 marks out of 160. This range is considered safe based on previous year trends.

The cut off varies for different categories:

  • General
  • OBC
  • SC
  • ST
  • EWS
  • ESM

The Commission releases separate cut offs for male and female candidates in each category. Several factors influence the cut off, including the difficulty level of the exam, total number of vacancies, and the number of candidates who appeared.

Selection Process After the Answer Key

The Computer-Based Exam is just the first stage. Candidates who clear the CBE move to the Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Standard Test. Those who pass these stages proceed to the Detailed Medical Examination.

The final merit list includes your CBE score along with any NCC bonus marks. The Commission considers the cut off for each force and category separately.

Documents Required for Document Verification

Keep these documents ready for the Document Verification round:

  • Class 10 certificate
  • Admit card
  • Photo ID proof
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Domicile certificate
  • NCC certificate (if applicable)
  • Recent photographs
  • Certificates for relaxation claims

Your candidature can be cancelled if you fail to meet the criteria, provide false information, or don't submit original documents during verification.

Why the Answer Key Matters

The answer key serves multiple purposes. It lets you calculate your approximate score before the official result. You can identify any questions where you think the official answer might be incorrect.

Most importantly, it gives you time to prepare for the next stages if you expect to clear the cut off. You can start working on your physical fitness and gather the required documents for verification.

The provisional answer key usually comes out within four to five days of the exam. However, the Commission does not announce an exact release date. Keep checking the official website regularly.

When the final answer key is released along with the result, you can verify how your score was calculated. This transparency helps maintain the credibility of the selection process.
