SSC Combined Hindi Translator Result 2025: 1,722 Candidates Shortlisted for PET/PST

The Staff Selection Commission has released the results for Paper 2 of the Combined Hindi Translators Examination 2025. If you appeared for the descriptive test on December 14, 2025, you can now check your status on the official SSC website.

Out of 3,642 candidates who qualified in Paper 1, the commission has shortlisted 1,722 candidates for the next round. These candidates will now move forward to the Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Standard Test for the Sub Inspector (Hindi Translator) position in CRPF.

Understanding the Cut-Off Marks

SSC set different qualifying marks based on category reservations. The commission kept things straightforward with their scoring criteria.

Unreserved category candidates needed 30% to qualify. OBC and EWS candidates required 25%, while all other categories needed 20% to move ahead.

But here's where it gets interesting. The actual cut-off marks were much higher than the minimum qualifying marks. This shows how competitive the examination was.

Category-Wise Breakdown

The results tell an interesting story about competition levels across different categories:

  • Unreserved (UR): Cut-off at 60 marks with 309 candidates selected
  • OBC: Cut-off at 50 marks with 588 candidates selected (the largest group)
  • EWS: Cut-off at 50 marks with 346 candidates selected
  • SC: Cut-off at 40 marks with 343 candidates selected
  • ST: Cut-off at 40 marks with 136 candidates selected

The OBC category had the highest number of selected candidates, which reflects both the application numbers and success rates in this group.

What Happens Next?

If you made it to the shortlist, congratulations. But don't relax just yet. The journey continues with physical tests.

SSC will announce the schedule for PET and PST separately. Keep checking the official website regularly. Missing an update could cost you your chance.

Before the final results come out, you'll need to submit an Option-cum-Preference form. This form lets you choose which posts you prefer. Take this seriously because if you skip this step, you won't be considered for any post in the final result.

The Physical Tests Matter

The physical tests are make or break for the CRPF position. If you don't clear PET or PST, you can't get the Sub Inspector role in CRPF. Period.

But there's a silver lining. If you qualified for other posts under this examination, your candidature for those positions stays valid. So even if the physical tests don't work out, you might still land another role.

Important Points to Remember

Stay active on the SSC portal. The commission posts all updates there. Check your regional SSC website too, as some information appears there first.

When the preference form opens, fill it within the deadline. Extensions are rare, and the commission doesn't send personal reminders.

Keep your documents ready. You'll need them for verification rounds. Original certificates, mark sheets, category certificates (if applicable), and identity proof should be organized and accessible.

A Reality Check

Only about 47% of Paper 1 qualifiers made it through Paper 2. This shows that the descriptive paper tested candidates thoroughly. The writing skills, translation accuracy, and language proficiency all played crucial roles.

The jump from minimum qualifying marks to actual cut-offs (like 60 for UR against 30% minimum) shows the quality of competition. Many candidates performed well above the basic requirements.

Preparing for Physical Tests

While waiting for the PET/PST schedule, start preparing physically. CRPF has specific standards for height, chest measurements, and physical endurance. Know these requirements and work towards meeting them comfortably.

Don't wait until the last minute. Physical fitness takes time to build. Start your routine now, even if the test dates are weeks away.

The Staff Selection Commission has done its part by conducting fair examinations and declaring results on time. Now the responsibility shifts to candidates to stay informed, prepare well, and show up ready for the next phase. Your government job journey is halfway done. Keep pushing forward.
