SSC CHSL 2026 Registration Opens for 2,536 10+2 Level Vacancies

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination 2026. The exam will fill 2,536 vacancies for posts such as Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), and Data Entry Operator (DEO).

Eligible candidates can apply online through the official SSC website, ssc.gov.in, or the MySSC mobile application. The application window opened on September 7, 2026, and will close on October 7, 2026. Candidates should not wait until the last day. Websites can slow down when everyone arrives at once, much like a railway station just before a long weekend.

SSC CHSL 2026 eligibility

For most posts, candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or university.

For the post of DEO or DEO Grade A in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, the Staff Selection Commission, and the Ministry of Culture, candidates must have passed Class 12 in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject.

Students who have appeared for their Class 12 board examination can also apply. However, they must have the required qualification on or before October 7, 2026. A pending result after the cut-off date may not meet the eligibility rule.

How to apply for SSC CHSL 2026

Visit ssc.gov.in or open the MySSC mobile application.
Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website.
Log in using the registration details.
Select the SSC CHSL 2026 examination.
Enter personal, academic, and contact details.
Upload the required documents in the prescribed format.
Pay the examination fee, if applicable.
Submit the form and save a copy of the confirmation page.

SSC has stated that OTR details created on the old website will not work on the new website. Candidates who already had an old OTR must create a fresh OTR on the new portal. Once created on the new website, the OTR will remain valid for future SSC examinations conducted through that portal.

Aadhaar authentication and exam entry

Candidates are advised to choose Aadhaar-based authentication during the OTR process. Applicants who complete Aadhaar authentication will not have their applications rejected because of issues with the uploaded photograph or signature, as per the notification.

They will also not need to carry a recent colour photograph or an original valid photo identity proof for entry to the examination venue under the stated conditions. Candidates should still read the admit card instructions, as the exam authority may provide venue-specific rules.
