RRB NTPC 2019 CBT 1 Papers

The 2019 CBT 1 papers were held in different phases and shifts. Important papers include the shifts held on December 29, 2020, January 4, 2021, and January 5 and 10, 2021. Solving these papers gives you practice with real exam questions and helps you learn how questions change from one shift to another.

Older RRB NTPC Papers

Previous papers from the 2015 recruitment cycle are also useful. These include CBT 1 papers held in 2016 and CBT 2 papers held in 2017. Older papers may not match the latest pattern in every detail, but they still offer good practice in core topics.

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern

In CBT 1, candidates answer 100 questions in 90 minutes. The paper includes:

SubjectQuestions
General Awareness40
Mathematics30
General Intelligence and Reasoning30

CBT 2 has 120 questions to be answered in 90 minutes. It tests the same broad subjects, but the questions are more detailed and may need more calculation. Candidates should check the current official notification for the exact pattern and post-wise rules.

There is a negative marking of one-third mark for each wrong answer in CBT 1 and CBT 2. So, blind guessing can turn a good attempt into a small maths problem of its own. Attempt a question when you can remove at least some options with confidence.

How to Use RRB NTPC Previous Year Papers

  1. Take the first paper without help: Set a timer and follow the exam rules. Do not check the answers after every question.
  2. Record your score: Note your correct answers, wrong answers, skipped questions, and time used.
  3. Review every mistake: Read the solution, then solve the question again without looking at it.
  4. Make a topic list: Mark topics such as percentage, coding-decoding, syllogism, history, and current affairs that need more work.
  5. Repeat the test: Solve the paper again after a few days. Your time and accuracy should improve.

Keep a small error notebook. Write the question type, your mistake, and the correct method. This simple habit can save time during revision. It also stops the same mistake from returning like an unwanted guest.

What the Papers Tell You About Preparation

RRB NTPC is often rated as easy to moderate, but the paper can feel hard when time runs short. Mathematics needs speed with basic formulas. Reasoning needs regular practice. General Awareness needs revision of current events, Indian history, geography, science, polity, and railways-related facts.

Use the latest papers first. They give a better idea of the current question style. Use older papers after that to increase practice. Try to solve at least one full paper each week at the start of your preparation. Increase this to two or three papers as the exam gets closer.

RRB NTPC Selection Stages

The recruitment process can include CBT 1, CBT 2, a Computer Based Aptitude Test or a Typing Skill Test, and Document Verification. The required skill test depends on the post. Candidates should read the official notification for the post they choose. Not every candidate takes both CBAT and the typing test.
