RRB NTPC Cut Off 2026: Zone Wise Marks and Previous Year Trends

The RRB NTPC cut off helps candidates understand the marks needed to move to the next stage of recruitment. The Railway Recruitment Board releases the cut off separately for undergraduate and graduate posts, regions, categories and exam stages.

This guide covers the RRB NTPC Cut Off 2026, previous year cut off marks, minimum qualifying marks, score calculation and steps to check the official PDF. Keep your roll number and exam details ready. The cut off table may look long, but it is less scary than a maths question with three brackets.

RRB NTPC Cut Off 2026

The RRB has released the Graduate Level CBT 1 cut off for CEN 05/2025 on regional websites. The marks are available by RRB zone, category and category number. Candidates who score equal to or more than the cut off are shortlisted for the next stage.

The Graduate CBT 1 cut off varies across zones. For example, the UR cut off for selected posts in 2026 was above 90 marks in Kolkata, while some posts in Guwahati, Bengaluru and Patna had lower cut offs. This difference shows why candidates must check the cut off for their own zone and category.

The RRB NTPC Undergraduate CBT 1 cut off 2026 is to be released separately by the Board. Until then, candidates can use the 2024-25 UG cut off to set a safe target.

RRB NTPC Previous Year Cut Off

Previous year marks can help you study with a clear target. They also show how the cut off changes with the exam level, number of vacancies, zone and candidate performance.

In the 2024-25 Graduate CBT 1 results, UR cut offs for many posts ranged from about 60 to 84 marks across zones. The UG cut offs for many zones ranged from about 70 to 84 marks. These figures are only for reference. The official cut off for a new cycle can move up or down.

Minimum Qualifying Marks for RRB NTPC CBT

Minimum qualifying marks are not the same as the final cut off. They are the basic marks needed to remain eligible. The actual cut off can be higher because many candidates compete for limited vacancies.

CategoryMinimum marks in CBT 1 and CBT 2
UR and EWS40%
OBC30%
SC30%
ST25%

CBT 1 is held for 100 marks, while CBT 2 is held for 120 marks. Candidates should aim well above the minimum percentage because clearing the basic mark does not guarantee shortlisting.

How RRB NTPC Cut Off Is Decided

  • Number of vacancies in the zone
  • Number of candidates who appeared
  • Difficulty level of the question paper
  • Candidate performance
  • Post and pay level
  • Category and reservation rules
  • Normalisation of marks across exam shifts

RRB uses normalised scores when candidates take the exam in different sessions. This process adjusts for shifts that may have different difficulty levels. Therefore, your raw score and final score may not be exactly the same.

How to Calculate Your RRB NTPC Score

In CBT exams, each correct answer carries one mark. One-third mark is deducted for each wrong answer.

Formula: Raw score = Correct answers minus (Wrong answers ÷ 3)

For example, if you attempt 60 questions and 12 answers are wrong, your correct answers are 48. The score is 48 minus 4, which equals 44 marks.

CBAT and Typing Skill Test Cut Off

CBAT applies to posts such as Station Master and Traffic Assistant. Candidates must score at least a T-score of 42 in each test battery. There is no negative marking in CBAT. The final merit for these posts uses 70% weightage from CBT 2 and 30% from CBAT.

For typing posts, the Computer-Based Typing Skill Test is qualifying in nature. Candidates need a speed of 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi on a computer. The test does not allow editing tools or spell check.

How to Check RRB NTPC Cut Off 2026

  1. Visit the official website of the RRB region where you appeared.
  2. Open the result or cut off section.
  3. Click the link for the RRB NTPC cut off PDF.
  4. Select your exam stage, post, category and zone.
  5. Download the PDF and compare the marks with your score.

Always use the official regional RRB website for the final cut off. Check the CEN number as well, since UG and Graduate recruitment have separate notices and cut off lists.

How Candidates Should Use Previous Cut Off Marks

Use old cut offs to set a study target, not as a promise of selection. Compare two or three years of data for your zone. Then add a safety margin of around 5 to 10 marks to your target, depending on the paper level and competition. Track mock test scores, improve accuracy and avoid guessing when negative marking can quietly eat your marks.
