RIE CEE 2026 provisional answer key is live from July 8. Learn how to download it, check your response sheet, and raise objections before July 12.
AC Team

If you sat for the RIE CEE 2026 exam on July 3, the wait is over. NCERT's Regional Institute of Education, Bhubaneswar, released the provisional answer key on July 8 at 5 PM. You can now check your response sheet, compare your answers, and file an objection if something looks off.
Here's everything you need to know, laid out simply so you don't have to hunt through five different tabs.
What Is Available Right Now
From 5 PM on July 8, the official portal cee.ncert.gov.in shows two things for every candidate:
- Your response sheet (the answers you actually marked)
- The provisional answer key (what NCERT thinks the correct answers are)
Put these two side by side, and you can estimate your score before the official result comes out. It's a bit like checking your exam paper before the teacher hands it back, except this time you get to argue your case.

Found a Mistake? Here's How to Raise an Objection
NCERT only accepts objections through the online portal. No emails, no letters, no calls. If you spot an error in the answer key, follow these steps:
- Log in to the CEE 2026 candidate portal
- Select the specific question you want to challenge
- Upload proof that supports your claim (think textbook references or credible sources)
- Pay Rs. 200 for each question you're challenging
- Submit before 11:55 PM on July 12, 2026
One tip: don't challenge a question just because you're unhappy with your score. Have solid evidence ready, or the fee simply becomes a donation to NCERT's coffers.
What Happens to Your Objection Fee?
The Rs. 200 fee is non-refundable, full stop. But here's the silver lining: if subject experts agree with your objection, the fee for that particular question gets refunded to your original payment account. Any bank charges during the transaction, though, are on you.
From Objections to Final Answer Key
Once the objection window closes, a panel of subject experts reviews every valid challenge. Based on their review, NCERT prepares the final answer key. A few things to keep in mind here:
- The expert panel's decision is final, no appeals after this stage
- NCERT won't tell you individually whether your objection was accepted or rejected
- The RIE CEE 2026 result will be calculated using this final answer key, not the provisional one
Understanding the Marking Scheme
The RIE CEE exam covers three sections: Language Proficiency, Teaching Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. The paper carries a maximum of 160 marks. Each correct answer earns you 2 marks, while every wrong answer costs you 0.5 marks. So guessing randomly isn't the smartest strategy here.
Most courses and colleges consider a score of at least 100 out of 160 (that's 60%) as acceptable. But remember, merit lists work on comparison. A higher score always gets preference over a lower one, regardless of the cutoff.
What Comes After the Result?
Once the final answer key is out and results are declared, NCERT will begin the counselling process. Candidates who clear the entrance exam get called for further admission rounds. So this answer key stage isn't just a formality, it's the first checkpoint on your way to admission.
