NEET UG Counselling 2026 Schedule, Eligibility, Steps and Required Documents

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the NEET UG 2026 counselling schedule. Students who cleared NEET UG 2026 can now apply for MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing seats under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) and other seats managed by MCC.

The full process will take place online. Your NEET rank, category, choices and available seats will play a key role in the allotment. Dates can change if MCC issues a revised notice. Check the official MCC website before submitting forms, locking choices or travelling to a college.

Who can take part?

You can join MCC counselling if you have qualified in NEET UG 2026 and meet the eligibility rules for the course and seat type. You must also meet the required percentile or cut-off for MBBS, BDS or BSc Nursing admission.

Students who want a seat under the state quota must register with their state counselling authority as well. MCC registration does not replace state counselling registration. This is one form that should not be left hiding under a pile of old notebooks.

How to register for NEET UG counselling

1. Visit the official MCC counselling website.
2. Open the NEET UG 2026 counselling registration link.
3. Enter your NEET application details and other required information.
4. Create or confirm your login details.
5. Fill in the application form with care.
6. Upload the required documents and photographs in the given format.
7. Pay the counselling fee, if applicable, through the available online method.
8. Check every detail before submitting the form.
9. Save and print the confirmation page for future use.

Use an active mobile number and email address. MCC may use them to send updates. Keep your login details private and do not share your password with agents or strangers.

Choice filling and locking

After registration, you can select colleges and courses in order of preference. Add choices based on your rank, seat availability, fee structure, location and course preference. Do not choose a college only because its name sounds familiar.

You may add several choices to improve your chances. Place the colleges you prefer most at the top. Review the order more than once before locking it. Once the choice locking window closes, you may not be able to change the list for that round.

Seat allotment considers your NEET rank, category, reservation rules, available seats and the order of your choices. MCC checks the seat matrix shared by participating institutions before it publishes the result.

What happens after seat allotment?

If you receive a seat in Round 1, download the allotment letter from the MCC portal. Follow the instructions for reporting between 18 and 22 August. You may need to complete document verification, pay the college fee and submit other admission forms.

Read the rules for accepting, upgrading or leaving a seat before taking action. The choice you make can affect your participation in later rounds. If you do not receive a seat, check the next round rules and fresh vacancy details on the official portal.

Carry the original documents along with several photocopies. Keep scanned copies on your phone or in secure cloud storage. Colleges may ask for extra documents, so check the admission notice of the allotted institution before you leave home.
