NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 1 Result Date and Reporting Guide
MCC has moved the NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 1 result to August 21. Check the revised dates, reporting steps, documents and upgrade rules.
AC Team

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has changed the schedule for NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 1. The seat allotment result will now be released on August 21, 2026. MCC will process seat allotments on August 19 and August 20.
The round covers 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats and 100% of seats in Deemed Universities, Central Universities, AIIMS, JIPMER and AFMC institutions. It includes seats for MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing courses.
Candidates should follow the revised notice on the official MCC UG Medical Counselling Portal. Earlier updates had listed different result and reporting dates. The revised schedule takes priority, so keep that calendar close. It may not be as exciting as a cricket scorecard, but it matters just as much for your next step.

How to check the Round 1 allotment result
Once MCC publishes the result, candidates can check their allotted college and course through the official portal. Follow these steps:
- Visit the official MCC UG Medical Counselling Portal.
- Open the link for the Round 1 provisional or final seat allotment result.
- Search the result PDF with your NEET UG roll number.
- Check the college, course and allotted quota shown against your roll number.
- Log in to the candidate dashboard.
- Download the official Round 1 Seat Allotment Letter.
Do not depend on screenshots shared in group chats. They can be useful for discussion, but the MCC portal remains the right place to confirm your result.
What candidates must do after getting a seat
Candidates who want to accept their Round 1 seat must report to the allotted college within the revised reporting window. They must complete admission formalities, submit the required documents and pay the tuition fee.
Physical reporting is important. Checking the result online does not complete admission. A seat can be lost if the candidate fails to follow the college and MCC instructions before the deadline.
Documents to carry for reporting
- NEET UG 2026 scorecard
- NEET UG 2026 admit card
- MCC Round 1 Seat Allotment Letter
- Class 10 certificate and marksheet
- Class 12 certificate and marksheet
- Valid photo identity proof such as Aadhaar Card, PAN or Passport
- Recent passport-sized photographs
- Category Certificate, if applicable
- PwBD Certificate, if applicable
Carry the original documents and a set of photocopies. Also check the allotted college website for extra forms, fee details and medical fitness requirements.
Free exit in Round 1 and the upgrade option
Round 1 includes a free-exit option. If a candidate does not want to join the allotted college, they may choose not to report within the prescribed period. The candidate can take part in Round 2, and the security deposit remains safe under this provision.
Candidates who want a better choice must report to the Round 1 college first. They need to complete admission, submit original documents, pay the tuition fee and give official willingness for an upgrade.
Round 2 registration is scheduled to begin on August 24, 2026. Fresh choice filling will continue until September 2, 2026. Candidates seeking an upgrade should list only colleges they prefer over their Round 1 seat.
If an upgrade is granted, the Round 1 seat is cancelled and cannot be reclaimed. If no upgrade is granted, the candidate keeps the Round 1 seat, subject to completion of all counselling rules.
Round 2 has a stricter exit rule
The Round 1 free-exit rule does not continue into Round 2. A candidate who receives a Round 2 seat and does not join may face exit with forfeiture. This can lead to the loss of the security deposit and may require fresh registration and payment for later Mop-Up or State rounds.
State counselling updates
State NEET counselling is running alongside the MCC process. Telangana's 85% state quota registration remains open until August 20, 2026, at 6:00 PM. Manipur's registration and choice filling close on August 19. Bihar's UGMAC Round 1 provisional allotment result is scheduled for August 20.
Candidates taking part in both MCC and state counselling should track each portal, deadline and document list separately. A deadline missed in one process does not get rescued by the other.
