WBJEE 2026 decentralised counselling schedule released

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has released a revised schedule for WBJEE 2026 decentralised counselling. The schedule was changed after technical issues affected the registration process.

The counselling will fill 33,857 vacant seats in participating institutes. Candidates with a valid WBJEE 2026 rank can take part. Some institutes may also accept JEE Main ranks and Class 12 qualifying marks, based on their eligibility rules.

The Phase 1 Round 2 allocation list is available through the official counselling portal. Candidates should check the latest notice and schedule on the WBJEEB website before taking any step. A missed payment or verification deadline can affect admission, so keep your calendar close and your snacks closer.

How the decentralised counselling process works

The process has two phases. Each phase has two seat allocation rounds. Candidates must complete the steps linked to their allocation before the deadline shown in the schedule.

  1. Check eligibility: Confirm that your WBJEE rank, JEE Main rank, or Class 12 marks meet the rules of the institute and course.
  2. Register online: Enter personal, academic, and rank details with care. Keep the login details safe.
  3. Fill choices: Select eligible colleges and courses in the order you prefer. Review the list before submitting it.
  4. Check the allocation list: Use the official portal to see whether a seat has been allotted.
  5. Pay the seat acceptance fee: Candidates who want to retain the allotted seat must pay within the given time.
  6. Complete physical verification: Visit the allotted institute with the required documents for verification and admission.

Documents candidates should keep ready

Applicants should prepare original documents and clear copies before visiting the institute. The exact list may differ by college, but candidates may need their WBJEE or JEE Main rank details, Class 10 and Class 12 certificates, marksheets, photo identity proof, domicile certificate, category certificate, passport-size photographs, payment receipt, and provisional allotment details.

Reserved category candidates should check that their certificates follow the required format and remain valid. If a document has a spelling difference, contact the institute before the verification date instead of hoping the issue will disappear on its own.

Key points for WBJEE 2026 candidates

  • The counselling covers 33,857 vacant seats.
  • There are two phases and two allocation rounds in each phase.
  • Valid WBJEE rank holders can participate.
  • Eligible institutes may consider JEE Main ranks and Class 12 marks.
  • Registration, choice filling, fee payment, and physical verification are required steps.
  • Dates and deadlines may change, so candidates should follow notices issued by WBJEEB.

Before reporting to a college, check the institute address, reporting time, fee rules, and document list. Also save screenshots or printouts of the submitted form, seat allotment, and fee payment receipt. These small steps can save time at the verification desk.
