NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Result Date and Everything You Need to Know

If you sat for the Re NEET UG 2026 exam on June 21, you are probably checking your phone every few minutes, hoping for a result notification. You are not alone. Over 20 lakh students are in the same boat, refreshing the NTA website like it owes them money.

Here is the good news: the wait is almost over. The National Testing Agency plans to release the Re NEET UG 2026 results on or before July 20, 2026. No official time has been confirmed, but past trends suggest the result usually drops around 7 pm.

How to Check Your NEET Result

Checking your result does not require any special skill, just a working internet connection and a bit of patience. Follow these steps:

  • Go to neet.nta.nic.in.
  • Click on the result link once it goes live.
  • Read through the details on the PDF.
  • Download the file and save it somewhere you will actually remember.

How to Download Your Scorecard

Your scorecard is different from the result PDF, and you will need your login details for this one. Here is how to grab it:

  • Visit the official NEET website.
  • Click on the scorecard link.
  • Log in using your application number and password.
  • Download the scorecard and keep a copy for counselling.

Your scorecard will show your overall score, subject-wise marks, percentile, All India Rank, category rank, and qualifying status. Basically, everything you need to plan your next move.

What Cutoff Scores to Expect

The cutoff depends on how tough the paper was and how many students appeared. Based on current estimates, here is a rough idea:

CategoryExpected Cutoff Score
UR/EWS700-135
OBC, SC, ST150-120
UR/EWS-PwD150-110
OBC/SC/ST-PwD130-115

These numbers can shift once the final answer key is out, so treat them as a guide rather than gospel.

Marks vs Rank: A Quick Reality Check

Wondering what your score means for your rank? Here is a rough map based on previous trends:

Marks RangeExpected Rank Range
650-7001-70
600-64971-1200
550-5991300-11000
500-54910999-39500
450-49939499-70000
400-44969999-88300

If your score falls in the 500-600 range, you are looking at a solid shot at mid-tier government colleges. Score above 650, and top government seats, including AIIMS, come into view.

How the Result Actually Gets Prepared

The NTA does not just throw numbers together. The result goes through a proper process:

  • Final answer key comparison
  • Cutoff score calculation
  • Tie-breaking rules for candidates with identical scores

Speaking of ties, if two students end up with the same score, the NTA checks Biology marks first, then Chemistry, then Physics. If it is still a tie after that, they look at the ratio of correct to incorrect answers subject by subject. It sounds complicated, but it just means every mark counts, even the ones you almost got wrong.

The exam also carries negative marking of 1 mark for every wrong answer, and this gets applied during result preparation based on the final key. So if you guessed randomly on a few questions, brace yourself.

What Happens After the Result

Once your result and scorecard are out, the next stop is counselling. The Medical Counselling Committee runs four to five rounds, each stretching over 10 to 15 days. Keep these documents ready well in advance:

  • NEET admit card
  • NEET result or scorecard
  • Class 10 and 12 mark sheets
  • A valid government photo ID
  • Passport-sized photographs
  • Caste certificate, if applicable

With around 1,20,000 MBBS seats available across India, there is a real shot for most serious candidates, whether through government quota, state counselling, or private colleges. Keep your scorecard handy, stay alert for counselling notifications, and try not to refresh the NTA site every thirty seconds. Easier said than done, we know.
