AC Team

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released the schedule for NEET PG 2026. The exam will take place on August 30, 2026, using a computer-based format at centres across India.
If you're planning to apply for postgraduate medical courses, here's what you need to know about the application process, key dates, and important guidelines.
Key Dates for NEET PG 2026
The timeline is tight, so mark these dates in your calendar:
- July 1, 2026, 4:00 PM: Information Bulletin available on NBEMS website
- July 1, 2026, 5:00 PM: Online application process begins
- July 21, 2026, 11:55 PM: Application deadline
- August 11, 2026: Test city intimation
- August 30, 2026: NEET PG 2026 exam
- September 30, 2026: Expected result declaration
You have three weeks to complete your application. While that might seem like enough time, don't wait until the last minute.
How Test City Allocation Works
Here's something important: test city allocation will not happen on a first come, first serve basis. Submitting your application early won't give you any advantage in getting your preferred test centre.
You'll need to select three preferred test states. Your first choice must be the state you list as your correspondence address. The other two should be neighbouring states.
NBEMS will try to assign you a test centre based on your preferences. However, they can assign you a centre anywhere in India if needed due to technical, security, or logistical reasons.
Document Requirements and Photo Guidelines
Your application needs proper documentation. You must provide a valid correspondence address with acceptable proof. Choose carefully because you cannot change your correspondence address or test state preferences after submission, even during the edit window.
Upload a recent photograph taken within the last three months. Follow the image upload guidelines exactly. Applications with unclear, manipulated, or non-compliant images may be rejected. You might not receive your admit card if your images don't meet the requirements.
Aadhaar Authentication Process
NBEMS is introducing Aadhaar-based verification for NEET PG 2026. Enter your Aadhaar number carefully in the application form. Make sure your Aadhaar is unlocked before exam day.
Here's a practical tip: avoid applying henna, colour, or any substance on your fingers or hands before the exam. These can interfere with biometric verification and create problems during registration at the test centre.
If Aadhaar authentication fails, NBEMS may use alternative methods like IRIS-based authentication.
Information You Cannot Change Later
NBEMS will not edit or modify information after you submit your application. Double-check these details before submission:
- Category
- PwBD (Person with Benchmark Disability) status
- Date of birth
- Contact details
- Other relevant information
The details you provide may be used for counselling and admission processes. They might be pre-populated in counselling registration forms. Neither NBEMS nor counselling authorities will entertain requests to change these particulars later.
Communication and Contact Details
Keep your registered email ID and mobile number active throughout the exam and admission process. NBEMS will send all important communications to your registered email or publish them on their website and WhatsApp channel.
Check your email regularly, including spam and junk folders. Make sure your mailbox isn't full and that emails from NBEMS aren't blocked by your email settings.
Security and Privacy Guidelines
Never share your application details, sequence number, password, Aadhaar details, mobile number, or email ID with anyone. Some people might try to mislead you with false promises about marks enhancement or admission through unfair means. NBEMS won't take responsibility if you share your information with unauthorised persons.
Don't rely on rumours or unverified information from social media. Check only official NBEMS channels for authentic information: their website at natboard.edu.in, registered email communications, and their official WhatsApp channel.
Exam Day Preparation
Plan to spend the entire day at the test centre. Arrive well before the reporting time. Authentication, identity verification, biometric checks, and security procedures take time.
Due to various circumstances, the process might take longer than expected. Avoid booking inflexible travel for the same day. You don't want to stress about catching a train or flight while taking your exam.
What to Avoid
Don't engage in impersonation, unfair means, or any examination malpractice. These actions can lead to cancellation of your candidature, debarment, and legal consequences.
Submit accurate information and valid documents. Providing false or misleading information can result in cancellation of your candidature and other actions.
Before You Apply
Read the Information Bulletin carefully before filling out your application. The bulletin contains details about eligibility criteria, fee structure, examination scheme, and other relevant instructions.
Take your time to understand the requirements. Review all particulars before final submission. The responsibility for providing accurate information rests with you.
Visit the NBEMS website for complete details and updates about NEET PG 2026. Good luck with your preparation and application process.
