NEET PG 2026 Answer Key, Response Sheet and Result Date Updates

NEET PG 2026 answer key updates: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is expected to release the NEET PG answer key and candidate response sheets soon. The documents will help candidates check the answers they marked in the exam and estimate their scores before the result is announced.

As per the official exam calendar, the NEET PG 2026 result is expected by September 30, 2026. The board is also expected to publish the merit list with the result.

NEET PG 2026 exam and retest details

NBEMS conducted the main NEET PG exam on August 30, 2026, across India. A total of 2,65,980 candidates appeared for the exam. The test was completed for 2,63,535 candidates, according to the official notice.

A retest was held on September 5, 2026, at 3 pm for 2,445 candidates. These candidates were affected by technical problems at the iON Digital Zone iDZ Sitapura centres in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

The retest meant that some candidates had to keep their revision notes ready for a few extra days. Medical entrance exams are known for long study hours, but an unexpected second exam date can test patience too.

What will be available with the NEET PG answer key?

NBEMS is expected to make the following details available through the candidate login:

  • The question ID for each question
  • The correct answer key
  • The response marked by the candidate
  • The response sheet for the examination

Candidates can use these details to compare their answers with the official key. The answer key may also help students make an early estimate of their marks. However, the final score should be treated as official only after NBEMS declares the result.

How to check the NEET PG 2026 answer key

Once the link is active, candidates can follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official NBEMS website.
  2. Open the NEET PG 2026 section or index page.
  3. Click on the link for the answer key or response sheet.
  4. Enter the required login details, such as the application number and password.
  5. View the answer key and response sheet.
  6. Download the documents and save a copy for future use.

Use only the official NBEMS website to download these documents. Avoid relying on screenshots shared in chat groups, since an image can miss a question, show an old version, or create more confusion than a difficult pharmacology question.

Can candidates challenge the NEET PG answer key?

NBEMS may provide a window for candidates to raise objections against questions or answers. The board will share the rules, dates, fee, and process in its official notice, if an objection window is opened.

Candidates should read the notice before submitting a challenge. They may need to select the question ID, explain the issue, and upload supporting documents or references. A challenge should be based on a clear academic reason, not only on the fact that an answer does not match a coaching institute's key.

After reviewing valid objections, NBEMS may make changes to the final answer key. The result will be prepared using the final key issued by the board.

NBEMS corrects Aadhaar email error

NBEMS recently clarified an error in an email sent to some candidates who appeared for the August 30 exam. The opening line of the email mentioned the examination date as September 5, even though those candidates had taken the test on August 30.

The board said that the Aadhaar authentication date and time mentioned in the rest of the email were correct. It regretted the error and clarified that the message was related to Aadhaar authentication under UIDAI requirements.

Candidates who received the email should check the complete message instead of relying only on the first line. They can also compare the details with the admit card and official notices.

NEET PG 2026 result and merit list

NBEMS is expected to announce the NEET PG 2026 result by September 30. The result is likely to include the candidate's score, rank, qualifying status, and other details as decided by the board.

Along with the result, NBEMS will upload the NEET PG 2026 merit list. This list will show the overall merit position of a candidate among those who appeared for the exam.

After the result, candidates should check the counselling notices issued by the Medical Counselling Committee and the relevant state counselling authorities. The counselling process, choice filling, seat allotment, and document checks will follow separate schedules.

Keep these details ready

Candidates should keep their application number, password, registered email address, and mobile number accessible. It is also useful to save the admit card, response sheet, answer key, scorecard, and result PDF in separate folders.

NBEMS may publish updates on its official website without much warning. Checking the official notice page and keeping login details ready can make the process faster when the answer key link goes live.
