The exam took place between April 21 and 26, 2026. Students appeared for the test in 11 different shifts at centers spread across Maharashtra's districts. The CET Cell has now published detailed statistics that give us a clear picture of how students performed.
Strong Attendance Numbers
The first attempt recorded a solid 92.66% attendance rate. Out of 2,84,063 registered candidates, 2,63,213 students appeared for the exam. This shows serious commitment from students preparing for medical and allied science courses.
When we look at gender-wise data, female students showed higher attendance at 93.46% compared to male students at 91.45%. Of the total registered candidates, 1,71,033 were female students and 1,13,022 were male students.
The Top Performers
Eleven students managed to score a perfect 100 percentile. These students come from different districts across Maharashtra, which shows that talent is spread throughout the state.
The list includes students from Nagpur, Palghar, Mumbai City, Kolhapur, Solapur, Dhule, Sangli, Pune, and Thane. Among the top performers, seven are male students and four are female students.
Some names that stood out include Aditya Abhishek Somani from Nagpur, Chheda Jeel Hitesh from Palghar, and Ashley Costancio Fernandes from Mumbai City. Pratiksha Dipak Gadhave from Solapur and Rashi Amitkumar Chopra from Pune represented female students in this elite group.
What These Numbers Mean
The high attendance rate tells us that students take this exam seriously. The PCB group is the gateway to medical, pharmacy, and other healthcare-related courses in Maharashtra. Getting a good percentile can make a real difference in securing admission to top colleges.
The fact that students from various districts made it to the 100 percentile club is encouraging. It shows that quality preparation can happen anywhere, not just in major cities.
How to Check Your Result
Students can visit the official website cetcell.mahacet.org to check their results. The website displays results as percentile scores. You will need your application number and other login credentials to access your scorecard.
The percentile score shows how you performed compared to other students. A 90 percentile means you scored better than 90% of all students who took the exam.
What Happens Next
After the results, the CET Cell will conduct counseling rounds for admission to various medical and allied science courses. Students will need to register for counseling, fill in their college preferences, and wait for seat allotment based on their percentile scores and choices.
The second attempt for MHT CET 2026 has already been conducted. Results for that attempt will be announced separately. Students who appeared for both attempts will get the benefit of their better score during the counseling process.
Looking at the Bigger Picture
Maharashtra conducts one of the largest state-level entrance exams in the country. The MHT CET opens doors to engineering, pharmacy, and medical colleges across the state. With lakhs of students appearing each year, the competition remains intense.
This year's results show that despite challenges, students have performed well. The 92.66% attendance rate during exam days indicates good planning and execution by both the authorities and the students.
For students who did not score as expected in the first attempt, the second attempt results will provide another opportunity. The system of considering the best score from both attempts ensures that one bad day does not ruin your chances of getting into a good college.
The detailed statistics released by the CET Cell also help in understanding trends. These numbers can guide future students in their preparation strategies and help them set realistic goals based on actual data.
