AC Team

Jharkhand NEET UG counselling 2026 Round 1 has a new schedule. The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) extended the registration and choice-filling deadline after a technical issue affected its server.
Eligible NEET 2026 candidates can now register, fill or edit their college choices, and take part in seat allotment until August 21, 2026. The Round 1 seat allotment result will be available from August 23 to August 28, 2026.
The counselling process covers MBBS, BDS and BHMS seats under state, All India and NRI quotas, as listed by the board. Candidates should check the official JCECEB notice and counselling portal before taking any action. Admission dates and document verification details can change, so an old screenshot or a message in a group chat is not enough proof.
Jharkhand NEET Round 1 counselling 2026: New dates
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| Last date for online registration and choice filling | August 21, 2026 |
| Choice editing, if needed | August 21, 2026 |
| Seat allotment and provisional allotment letter download | August 23 to August 28, 2026 |
| Document verification and admission | No change in the revised notice |
The same August 21 deadline applies to online registration and choice filling for eligible All India quota seats in participating MBBS and BDS colleges. Seat allotment letters for these seats can also be downloaded from August 23 to August 28.
Who needs to register again?
Candidates who already registered and paid the online counselling fee and security deposit do not need to pay the fee again for Round 1 choice filling. However, they must register once on the online choice-filling portal before submitting their choices.
This step is easy to miss. Paying the fee and registering on the choice portal are not the same thing. Candidates should log in, complete the required registration, fill their choices and save the final submission. A choice list left in draft form may not be considered for allotment.
Jharkhand NEET counselling fee 2026
The fee depends on the candidate’s category:
| Category | Counselling fee |
|---|---|
| General, EWS, BC-I and BC-II | Rs 1,000 |
| SC, ST, women and Divyang candidates | Rs 500 |
The security deposit, where applicable, is separate from the counselling fee. Candidates should check the payment page for the exact amount, payment method and refund rules before making a payment. Keep the payment receipt safe. It may be needed during later steps, and searching for it at the last minute is not a fun use of a counselling day.
How to fill choices for Round 1
- Visit the official JCECEB NEET counselling website.
- Open the Round 1 registration or choice-filling link.
- Log in with the required NEET and registration details.
- Check the list of available colleges and courses.
- Add choices in the order you prefer.
- Review the list before locking or submitting it.
- Download or print the submitted choice list and confirmation page.
Place your most preferred college first, followed by realistic options. Do not add a college only because its name looks familiar. Check the course, quota, fee, location, previous closing rank and seat type before adding it.
Documents to keep ready
JCECEB will verify documents before admission. Candidates should keep clear copies and original documents ready as required by the authority. These may include the NEET 2026 admit card, scorecard, rank details, government photo ID, Class 10 and Class 12 certificates, domicile certificate, category certificate, income or EWS certificate, passport-size photographs and the counselling registration receipt.
Reserved category certificates must follow the format and validity rules stated in the official notice. A certificate with missing details or an expired validity date can cause trouble during verification. Candidates should also check whether their name and date of birth match across all records.
What happens after seat allotment?
Allotted candidates can download the provisional seat allotment letter between August 23 and August 28. The letter will contain important instructions for reporting, document verification and admission at the concerned institute.
Read the letter line by line. Note the reporting place, required documents, payment details and deadline. Failure to report within the given time may lead to loss of the seat, as per the counselling rules. Candidates who do not receive a seat should check the next counselling round notice and keep their documents and choice plan ready.
