This recruitment can help candidates who want a Central Government job but do not want to take a written exam. Selection will be based on marks scored in the secondary school examination. So, this is a good time to check your marks, documents and eligibility before applying.

Who can apply for India Post GDS posts?
Candidates must have passed secondary school from a recognised board. The notice does not list any higher educational qualification for these posts. This makes the recruitment suitable for candidates who have completed Class 10 and want to start work soon.
Applicants may also need to meet language and other conditions linked to the postal circle they choose. They should read the full notification with care. A small mistake in the selected circle or form details can create a large problem later. Forms, like socks in a washing machine, can disappear when you do not keep track of them.
Age limit and relaxation
The age limit is 18 to 40 years. The age will be counted as per the date stated in the official notification.
Reserved category candidates can get relaxation in the upper age limit under government rules. SC and ST candidates can receive five years of relaxation, while OBC candidates can receive three years. Candidates from other eligible categories should check the notification for the exact relaxation rules and documents needed.
How will the selection take place?
India Post will prepare a merit list using secondary school marks. There will be no written examination or computer-based test for this recruitment, as per the short notice.
High marks can improve a candidate’s chance of appearing on the merit list. If two candidates have similar marks, India Post may use the tie-breaking rules given in the full notification. Shortlisted candidates will need to complete document verification and any other formal steps mentioned by the department.
Candidates should keep their marksheet, identity proof and category certificate ready. The details entered in the form must match the details on the original documents.
India Post GDS salary
The salary depends on the post selected. A Branch Postmaster can receive between Rs 12,000 and Rs 29,380 per month. An Assistant Branch Postmaster or Dak Sevak can receive between Rs 10,000 and Rs 24,470 per month.
The final amount may depend on the duty, location and rules that apply to the post. Other benefits may also be available under India Post rules. Candidates should read the pay details in the official notification instead of relying on social media posts or forwarded messages.
