Students across India are waiting for their ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12 results. The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) is expected to announce the results soon. Here's everything you need to know about checking your scores and what comes next.
When Will the Results Be Announced?
The CISCE result date 2026 for both Class 10 and Class 12 is expected to be April 30. Last year, the board released both results on the same day. Over 4 lakh students appeared for these exams this year.
The ICSE exams were held from February 17 to March 30, 2026. The ISC exams took place between February 12 and April 3, 2026.

What Information Will Your Marksheet Show?
Your ICSE or ISC marksheet will display:

- Student ID
- School name
- Subject-wise marks in theory and practical
- Total marks
- Result status (Pass or Fail)
Check all details carefully. If you spot any error in your name, date of birth, or marks, inform your school right away.
What Marks Do You Need to Pass?
For ICSE Class 10, you need to score at least 35% in each subject and 35% overall to pass. The board follows an 80:20 pattern. This means 80 marks come from the board exam and 20 from internal assessment.
For ISC, you need 35% in each subject to pass.
How Are Your Final Marks Calculated?
CISCE uses the best of five subjects system. English is compulsory. Your final percentage is the average of English and your four highest-scoring subjects.
Will the Board Release a Toppers List?
No. CISCE stopped releasing toppers lists to avoid unhealthy competition among students. The board believes this helps students focus on learning rather than just scoring marks. However, the board does release overall pass percentages.
Last Year's Pass Percentage
In 2025, the ISC results showed strong performance across regions:
- North: 98.97%
- East: 98.76%
- West: 99.72%
- South: 99.76%
- Foreign: 100%
Girls performed slightly better than boys, with a pass percentage of 99.45% compared to 98.64% for boys.
What If You're Not Happy With Your Marks?
If you feel your paper deserved better marks, you can apply for re-evaluation or rechecking. The application is done online only. You need to pay Rs 1,000 per subject.
The board discontinued compartment exams from 2024. If you fail in one or two subjects, you cannot appear for a compartment exam. However, you can apply for re-evaluation.
ICSE Improvement Exams
If you passed but want to improve your marks, you can appear for improvement exams. These are expected to be held between July 1 and 14, 2026. The exams will be conducted in pen and paper format.
Start preparing early. Download previous year question papers and sample papers from the official website. Practice regularly to improve your scores.
Getting Your Physical Marksheet
The online marksheet is valid for most purposes. However, you should collect your physical marksheet from your school. Schools usually receive these within 15 to 20 days after results are declared.
What to Do After Results
Once you check your result:
- Verify all details on your marksheet
- Take a printout and keep multiple copies
- Share your result with your parents and school
- Start planning for the next academic year
For Class 10 students, start researching streams and subjects for Class 11. Talk to your teachers and parents about your interests and career goals.
For Class 12 students, begin looking at colleges and courses. Many entrance exams for professional courses happen around this time. Stay updated on application deadlines.
Common Login Issues
If the result portal shows "invalid details," double-check what you entered. Make sure you're typing the correct UID and Index Number. These are case-sensitive, so enter them exactly as shown on your admit card.
If the website is slow or not loading, be patient. Lakhs of students try to access results at the same time. Try refreshing the page or checking after some time.
Stay Alert for Official Announcements
The exact result date and time will be announced on the official CISCE website. Don't rely on rumors or unverified social media posts. Several fake notices about result dates have circulated online. Always check the official website for authentic information.
The board will issue a formal notification before releasing results. Keep checking cisce.org regularly for updates.
Good luck to all students waiting for their results. Your hard work will pay off. Remember, marks are just one measure of your abilities. Whatever your result, use it as a stepping stone for future growth.
