The wait is almost over for lakhs of students who appeared for ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12 exams in 2026. The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) is expected to announce results any day now. Students across the country are checking the official website multiple times daily, hoping to see their scores.
If you're one of those students refreshing the results page, this guide will help you understand everything about checking your result, what to do after the announcement, and how to handle any issues that might come up.
When Will ICSE and ISC Results Be Announced?
The official result date has not been confirmed yet. However, based on previous years' trends, CISCE typically announces results by the end of April or in the first week of May. Last year, the results came out on April 30. The year before that, they were declared on May 6.
The ICSE Class 10 exams were held from February 17 to March 30, 2026. ISC Class 12 exams took place between February 12 and April 3, 2026. Both exams were conducted in pen and paper mode at various centres across the country.
Keep checking the official website regularly. The board usually announces the result date a day or two before the actual declaration. Some students believe rumours on social media about result dates, but it's best to rely only on official announcements from CISCE.
Where to Check Your Results
CISCE will publish results on two official websites:
- cisce.org
- results.cisce.org
Both websites will display the same information. If one website is slow due to heavy traffic, try the other one. Many students try to access their results at the same time, which can cause the server to slow down. Be patient and keep trying.
How to Download Your Result
Checking your result is simple. Follow these steps:
- Visit cisce.org or results.cisce.org
- Click on the result link for ICSE or ISC
- Enter your seven-digit Unique ID (UID)
- Enter your Index Number
- Type the captcha code shown on screen
- Click submit
- Your result will appear on the screen
- Download and save a copy for future reference
You can find your UID and Index Number on your admit card. Keep the admit card handy when checking results. If you've lost your admit card, contact your school immediately.
Other Ways to Check Results
If the official website is not working due to high traffic, you have two other options:
Via SMS
For ICSE Class 10 results, type ICSE and send it to 09248082883. For ISC Class 12 results, type ISC and send it to the same number. You'll receive your result as a text message on your phone.
Via DigiLocker
You can also check your result using the DigiLocker app. This government app stores your educational documents digitally. Download the app, register with your details, and access your result when it's announced.
Understanding the Passing Criteria
To pass ICSE Class 10, you need to score at least 33% in each subject. English is compulsory to pass. Even if you pass all other subjects but fail in English, you won't receive your pass certificate.
For ISC Class 12, the requirement is 35% in each subject. You also need to maintain an overall percentage of at least 35%. Like ICSE, passing English is compulsory for ISC as well.
ICSE calculates your percentage using the best five subjects out of six. The subject with the lowest marks is not counted. This system helps students by not letting one weak subject affect their overall performance too much.
What Details Will Your Result Show?
Your ICSE or ISC result will include:
- Your name
- Date of birth
- Student ID
- School name
- Marks in each subject (theory and practical separately)
- Pass or fail status
Check all details carefully as soon as you download your result. If you find any mistakes in your name, date of birth, or marks, contact your school immediately. The school will help you raise a request with CISCE for correction.
What If You Fail in One or Two Subjects?
Don't panic if you don't pass in one or two subjects. CISCE conducts improvement exams for students who need them. The improvement exam dates are usually announced a few weeks after the main results.
However, remember that CISCE does not conduct compartment exams anymore. The improvement exam is your chance to clear the subjects you failed in. You can appear for improvement exams in a maximum of two subjects.
If you fail only in subjects other than English, you might still get a pass certificate in some cases. But if you fail in English, you must appear for the improvement exam to get your pass certificate.
How to Apply for Re-evaluation
If you feel your marks don't match your performance in the exam, you can apply for re-evaluation. The process is simple:
- Apply online through the CISCE portal
- Pay the re-evaluation fee of Rs 1,000 per subject
- Wait for the re-evaluation result
Re-evaluation results are usually announced in the second week of June. During re-evaluation, the board checks if all questions were evaluated, if the marks were added correctly, and if any question was missed during checking.
Keep in mind that re-evaluation doesn't guarantee higher marks. Sometimes marks remain the same, and in rare cases, they might even decrease slightly due to calculation corrections.
Collecting Your Original Marksheet
The result you download online is provisional. You need to collect your original marksheet from your school a few days after the result announcement. This physical marksheet is important for college admissions and future reference.
Don't delay collecting your marksheet. Keep it safe in a folder along with your other important documents. You'll need it when applying for higher education.
Past Year Performance
ICSE and ISC exams consistently see high pass percentages. In 2025, the ICSE pass percentage was 99.47%, while ISC recorded 98.19%. Girls have historically performed better than boys in both exams.
For ISC 2025, out of 99,551 students who appeared, 98,578 passed the exam. The pass percentage for boys was 98.64%, while for girls it was 99.45%.
These high pass percentages show that CISCE maintains good standards while ensuring most students who prepare well can pass the exams.
What to Do After Getting Your Result
Once you have your result, here's what you should do:
- Download and print multiple copies for safety
- Check all details carefully for any errors
- If satisfied with marks, start planning for higher education
- If not satisfied, decide whether to apply for re-evaluation
- Collect your original marksheet from school
- Keep both digital and physical copies safe
For Class 10 students, this is the time to decide which stream to choose for Class 11. For Class 12 students, start researching colleges and entrance exams you need to appear for.
Special Note About Middle East Exams
ICSE and ISC exams scheduled in the Middle East were cancelled in 2026. Students from that region will be assessed differently. Their results will be calculated based on internal assessments and practical work instead of the written examination.
If you're a student from the Middle East region, your school will provide specific information about how your assessment was done and when you can expect your result.
Tips While Waiting for Results
The wait for results can be stressful. Here are some tips to manage this time:
Stay calm and avoid checking the website every few minutes. Set a specific time twice a day to check for updates. Spend time with family and friends. Start researching your options for higher education regardless of the result. Remember that one exam doesn't define your future.
Many successful people had average board exam results. What matters more is how you use the opportunities that come your way and how hard you work in the future.
Whatever your result, accept it gracefully. If it's good, celebrate with your family. If it's not what you expected, learn from the experience and work harder next time. Every student has different strengths, and board exams are just one measure of academic ability.
Good luck to all students waiting for their ICSE and ISC results. Your hard work will pay off, and this is just the beginning of your educational journey.
