Over four lakh students across India woke up today with nervous excitement. The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) released the ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12 results on April 30, 2026, at 11 AM. Students can now access their scorecards through the official website at cisce.org or via DigiLocker.
The ICSE Class 10 exams ran from February 17 to March 30, while ISC Class 12 exams took place between February 12 and April 3. The results arrived right on schedule, giving students clarity about their next steps.
What You Need to Pass
Class 10 students need to score at least 33 percent overall to pass the ICSE examination. For Class 12, the bar sits slightly higher at 35 percent. These are aggregate scores, which means your total marks across all subjects matter.
The pass rates have stayed strong over the years. In 2025, 99.35 percent of Class 10 students cleared the exam, while 99.34 percent of Class 12 students passed. These numbers show consistent performance across the board.
How to Check Your Results Online
Getting your scorecard takes just a few minutes. Here's what you need to do:
- Go to cisce.org, the official CISCE website
- Find and click on either "ICSE Examination results 2026" or "ISC Examination results 2026"
- Select your course from the options
- Enter your UID (unique identification number) and index number
- Type in the captcha code shown on screen
- Click the "Show Result" button
- Your scorecard will appear on screen
- Download and save it for future use
Keep your login details ready before you start. The website might run slow during peak hours when thousands of students try to check their results at the same time.
Alternative Ways to Access Your Results
If the main website feels sluggish or won't load, DigiLocker offers a quick backup option. You can download the DigiLocker app or visit digilocker.gov.in. Log in with your Aadhaar number or mobile number, head to the "Education" section, and select "Council For Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE)". Enter your UID and index number to view your scorecard.
Students can also check results via SMS. For ICSE results, type ICSE followed by your seven-digit UID and send it to 09248082883. ISC students should type ISC followed by their seven-digit UID and send it to the same number.
What About Toppers Lists?
CISCE stopped publishing merit lists and toppers rankings a few years back. The last official merit list came out in 2023. The council made this decision to reduce academic pressure on students. Ranking students by total marks can create stress that doesn't help anyone.
That said, the board still recognizes students who score high marks in specific subjects through subject-wise merit certificates. These certificates celebrate strong performance without pitting students against each other.
Girls Continue to Perform Well
The data from recent years shows an interesting trend. Girls have been scoring slightly better than boys in both ICSE and ISC exams. In 2025, girls achieved a 99.45 percent pass rate in ISC, compared to 98.64 percent for boys. This pattern has stayed steady across multiple exam cycles.
The gap isn't huge, but it's consistent. In 2024, 98.92 percent of girls cleared ISC exams, while 97.53 percent of boys passed. CISCE includes similar gender-wise data in their annual reports.
Region-Wise Performance
Different regions showed varied performance levels in 2025. Foreign students scored 100 percent pass rate, followed by the South region at 99.76 percent and West at 99.72 percent. The East region achieved 98.76 percent, while the North recorded 98.97 percent.
These regional differences reflect various factors, including resources available to schools, teaching methods, and local education priorities.
What Happens Next?
Students who didn't get the marks they wanted can appear for improvement exams. Based on past trends, CISCE will likely conduct these exams in July. This gives students a few months to prepare better and take another shot at improving their scores.
For students who passed, the scorecard opens doors to the next phase of education. Class 10 students will move to Class 11, while Class 12 graduates can start applying to colleges and universities.
Over 2.6 Lakh Students Appeared
This year saw over 2.6 lakh students take the ICSE Class 10 examination. The numbers reflect the growing popularity of CISCE schools across India and abroad. ISC Class 12 had fewer students, but still represented a significant group of young people ready to take the next step in their education journey.
The wait is over now. Students can check their results, share them with family, and start planning their future. Whether the marks met expectations or fell short, every result is a stepping stone to what comes next. Good luck to all students checking their scores today.
