HTET 2026: Haryana Government Ensures Transparent Exam Conduct for Over 2.33 Lakh Candidates

The Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) is set to take place on July 4 and 5, and the state government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure everything runs smoothly. With over 2.33 lakh candidates preparing to appear across 383 examination centres, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has made it clear that transparency and fairness are top priorities.

During a state-level review meeting held on Wednesday, the Chief Minister gave strict instructions to district officials. The goal is simple: make sure every candidate has a hassle-free experience while maintaining the highest standards of integrity throughout the examination process.

Three Levels, Three Days of Testing

The HTET will be conducted in three different sessions across two days. On July 4, 73,091 candidates will sit for the Level-3 (PGT) exam at 238 centres. The following day, July 5, will see 1,19,141 candidates taking the Level-2 (TGT) exam at 383 centres, while 41,062 candidates will appear for the Level-1 (PRT) exam at 139 centres.

These numbers are significant, and the scale of the operation requires careful planning. That is exactly what the state administration is doing.

Help is Just a Phone Call Away

One of the practical measures announced is the use of Dial 112 for candidates who face any difficulty reaching their examination centres. Police personnel have been instructed to provide immediate assistance to anyone who calls this number.

This is particularly helpful for candidates who might be travelling from far-off areas or those unfamiliar with the city where their centre is located. The state wants to remove any logistical barriers that could prevent a candidate from reaching their exam on time.

Transport Arrangements for Shifted Centres

The transport department has been directed to deploy additional buses. This step is especially important for candidates from Panchkula, Karnal, and Kurukshetra, whose examination centres have been shifted due to another examination being conducted at the same time.

Getting to an exam is stressful enough without having to worry about transport. These extra buses should ease some of that pressure and help candidates reach their centres without panic.

Control Room and Flying Squads

A control room has been set up at the headquarters of the Board of School Education, Haryana. This control room will act as a central monitoring hub during the examination days.

Additionally, flying squads will be deployed at both district and state levels. These squads will keep an eye on activities at various centres to ensure rules are being followed and to respond quickly to any irregularities.

Strict Measures to Prevent Cheating

The government is taking a strong stand against malpractice. Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita will remain in force outside all examination centres. This legal provision helps maintain order and prevents any unlawful activities.

Photocopy shops near examination centres will remain shut before the exams begin. This measure is designed to prevent any last-minute copying or distribution of unauthorised materials.

Every examination centre will have CCTV surveillance. Candidates will go through biometric verification to confirm their identity, and metal detector screening will be mandatory before entering the examination hall.

Mobile phones and electronic devices will not be allowed inside the centres. This is a standard practice in most high-stakes examinations and helps ensure that no candidate gains an unfair advantage.

Learning from the Common Eligibility Test

Chief Minister Saini has instructed officials to model the HTET conduct on the lines of the Common Eligibility Test (CET). The CET was conducted smoothly and transparently, and the government wants to replicate that success with HTET.

This approach shows that the state is building on its past experiences and continuously improving its examination processes.

What This Means for Candidates

For the thousands of candidates preparing for HTET, these measures should provide some peace of mind. Knowing that the government is actively working to create a fair environment can reduce anxiety.

Candidates can focus on their preparation instead of worrying about logistical issues or unfair practices. The transparent approach also means that merit will be the deciding factor, which is how it should be.

If you are appearing for HTET, make sure you reach your centre well before time. Carry your admit card and valid ID proof. Leave your mobile phone at home or with someone who is not entering the examination centre. Follow all the instructions given by the examination authorities.

A Step Towards Better Education

The Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test is more than just an examination. It is a gateway for qualified individuals to enter the teaching profession and shape the future of students across the state.

By ensuring that this test is conducted fairly, the government is taking a meaningful step towards improving the quality of education in Haryana. Teachers who qualify through a transparent process are likely to uphold the same values in their classrooms.

The measures announced by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini demonstrate a commitment to integrity and fairness. With proper planning, adequate resources, and strict monitoring, HTET 2026 is set to be conducted in a manner that serves the best interests of all candidates.
