The Himachal Pradesh State Selection Commission has released the final result for the Social Science Teacher recruitment under Post Code 26029. The recruitment was held for 108 posts in the School Education Department.
After checking the original documents of shortlisted candidates, the commission selected 107 candidates. One post remains vacant because no eligible candidate was available for the Scheduled Caste category reserved for relatives of freedom fighters.
107 candidates selected after document verification
The selection process included a computer-based test, followed by document verification. The final list was prepared only after the commission checked the documents and confirmed the eligibility of the shortlisted candidates.
According to commission secretary Dr Vikram Mahajan, 439 candidates applied for the 108 Social Science Teacher posts. Of these, 374 candidates appeared for the computer-based test. Based on the exam result, 225 candidates were called for document verification.
The document verification process took place on 24 and 25 August. Candidates had to present their original documents as part of the process. After the checks, 107 candidates met the required conditions and were included in the final selection list.
One post remains vacant
The recruitment included 108 posts. However, one post could not be filled. The vacant post belongs to the SC category for relatives of freedom fighters. The commission stated that no candidate from this category met the eligibility requirements.
This means the final selection covers 107 posts instead of all 108 posts advertised. A vacant post in a recruitment list is not unusual when no applicant meets the rules for a specific category. The paperwork, in this case, did its job without leaving room for guesswork.
