AC Team

The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the NEET UG 2026 admit card on April 27 at 10 AM. Over 22 lakh students registered for the exam can now download their hall tickets from the official portal.
Your admit card is your entry pass to the examination centre. Without it, you cannot appear for the test scheduled on May 3. The hall ticket contains your exam centre address, reporting time, roll number, and other details you need on exam day.
Where to Download Your Hall Ticket
You can access your admit card only through the official NEET website at neet.nta.nic.in. NTA has warned students to avoid fake websites that claim to offer admit card downloads. Stick to the official portal to protect your information and get the correct document.
The agency will not send physical copies by post. You need to download the hall ticket yourself and print it on A4 paper. Keep multiple copies safe for both the exam and the admission process later.
Step by Step Download Process
The download process is simple and takes just a few minutes if you have your login details ready.
Step 1: Open your browser and visit neet.nta.nic.in. Look for the link marked 'NEET UG 2026 Admit Card' under the candidate activity section on the homepage.
Step 2: Click the admit card link. This will take you to the login page.
Step 3: Enter your application number and password. You can also use your date of birth instead of the password. Type the security code shown on the screen.
Step 4: Click submit. Your admit card will appear on the screen in PDF format.
Step 5: Download the PDF and save it on your device. Print it clearly on A4 paper. Make sure your photograph and barcode are visible.
What to Check After Download
Once you download your hall ticket, spend a few minutes checking all the details. Mistakes on your admit card can create problems on exam day.
Verify your name spelling, roll number, and application number. Check your photograph. If it looks unclear or different from what you uploaded, contact NTA immediately.
Look at your exam centre details carefully. Note the centre name, address, and centre code. Check the reporting time. Students must reach the centre before the entry deadline to complete security checks.
Confirm your paper medium. If you selected Hindi or any regional language, it should show correctly on the admit card. The bilingual paper will have questions in both English and your chosen language.
Check your category and any special provisions like extra time for persons with disabilities. If something looks wrong, reach out to NTA helpline before the exam date.
Documents You Need on Exam Day
Your printed admit card is essential, but you need other documents too.
Carry a valid government identity proof. This can be your Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving licence, passport, or voter ID. The name on your ID should match the name on your admit card.
Bring passport-size photographs. These should be the same as the ones you used in your application form. You might need to paste them on the attendance sheet at the centre.
Do not bring any prohibited items. Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, electronic devices, bags, written notes, and food items are not allowed inside the exam hall.
Dress Code Rules
NTA has issued specific dress code guidelines for NEET candidates.
Wear light-coloured clothing with short or half sleeves. This makes the security check process faster. Avoid clothes with large buttons, badges, or brooches.
You can wear slippers or low-heeled sandals. Shoes with thick soles or heavy footwear might require extra checking time.
If you wear customary or religious attire, you are allowed to do so. However, arrive at the centre well before the reporting time. Security personnel will need extra time to complete frisking procedures while respecting your attire.
About the Examination
NEET UG 2026 will take place on May 3 from 2 pm to 5 pm. The test happens in a single shift across all centres.
You will answer 180 multiple-choice questions. Physics has 45 questions worth 180 marks. Chemistry also has 45 questions worth 180 marks. Biology, divided into Botany and Zoology, has 90 questions worth 360 marks. The total is 720 marks.
Each correct answer gives you four marks. Each wrong answer deducts one mark. Unattempted questions carry no penalty.
The paper is available in 13 languages. You can choose English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, or Urdu. Regional language papers are bilingual, with both English and your selected language printed side by side.
Candidates with benchmark disabilities get an extra hour. This compensatory time applies whether you use a scribe or write the exam yourself.
Exam Centre Allocation
NTA released exam city slips before the admit cards. According to the agency, 99.2 per cent of candidates received their first-choice city.
Your exact centre location appears only on the admit card. The city slip told you the city, but the hall ticket gives you the complete address and centre code.
If possible, visit your exam centre a day before the test. This helps you understand the route, estimate travel time, and locate the entry gate. On exam day, you will feel more confident because you know where to go.
Security Measures at Centres
NTA has put strict security arrangements in place for NEET 2026.
All candidates will undergo biometric verification. Your fingerprints will be scanned to confirm your identity. This prevents impersonation and maintains exam integrity.
Frisking will be conducted at the entry point. Security staff will check for prohibited items. Cooperation during this process helps everyone enter the hall quickly.
CCTV cameras will record the examination. Invigilators will monitor the hall throughout the test. Any suspicious behaviour or violation of rules can lead to disqualification.
Answer Marking Instructions
You will receive an OMR sheet to mark your answers. Use only the pen provided at the centre. Bringing your own pen is not allowed.
Fill the bubbles completely and neatly. Do not overwrite or use correction fluid. Unclear or multiple markings might result in the answer being rejected by the scanning machine.
Manage your time wisely. You have three hours for 180 questions, which gives you one minute per question. However, some questions will take more time and others less.
Evaluation and Results
NTA will publish the answer key after the examination. You can challenge answers if you find errors. The agency reviews all challenges before declaring the final result.
If multiple options in a question are correct, you get four marks for choosing any correct option. If all options are correct or a question is dropped, all candidates receive four marks for that question.
The result will show your score and All India Rank. Qualifying percentile cutoffs apply based on your category. Results determine admission to MBBS, BDS, and other medical courses across India.
What the Medical Council Said
The National Medical Commission issued a directive to medical colleges regarding exam dates. Colleges should not grant leave on May 2 and May 3 except in exceptional cases.
This measure aims to prevent any unfair practices during the examination period. The commission wants to ensure smooth conduct and maintain the credibility of the entrance test.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Many students make small errors that create big problems. Here are things to avoid.
Do not wait until the last minute to download your admit card. Technical issues or website traffic can slow down the process. Download it as soon as possible.
Do not forget to check all details on the hall ticket. Finding an error on exam day is too late.
Do not lose your admit card. Keep both soft and hard copies in safe places. You might need this document during counselling and admission.
Do not ignore the reporting time. Late arrivals are not allowed entry. Plan to reach at least an hour before the reporting deadline.
Do not panic if you face login issues. Clear your browser cache, try a different browser, or use another device. If problems continue, contact the NTA helpline immediately.
Final Preparation Tips
With admit cards out, focus shifts to final revision and exam readiness.
Review important concepts and formulas. Solve previous year papers under timed conditions. This builds speed and accuracy.
Take care of your health. Get enough sleep, eat proper meals, and stay hydrated. A fresh mind performs better than a tired one.
Keep all your documents ready the night before the exam. Pack your admit card, ID proof, photographs, and a transparent water bottle in a clear bag.
Stay calm and confident. You have prepared for this test. Trust your preparation and give your best effort on exam day.
Remember that over 22 lakh students are appearing for NEET UG 2026. You are part of a large group working towards the same goal. Follow all instructions, stay focused during the test, and approach each question with a clear mind.
