DU Financial Support Scheme 2026-27: Eligibility, Up to 100% Fee Waiver & October 23 Last Date

Hello DU students! I'm Runal Naik, an Education Research Writer at AcademyCheck. Education expenses can make it harder to stay focused on your course. The University of Delhi's Financial Support Scheme 2026-27 offers eligible students an opportunity to reduce that burden.
The last date for the online FSS application is 23 October 2026. The scheme offers income-based fee assistance of up to 100%, but there are monetary caps and important exclusions. It is not a blanket waiver for every DU student or every expense.
How much fee support can you receive?
Up to ₹4 lakh: waiver on eligible fees up to 100%; maximum support ₹15,000.
Above ₹4 lakh and up to ₹8 lakh: waiver on eligible fees up to 50%; maximum support ₹10,000.
Above ₹8 lakh: not eligible for the waiver; maximum support not applicable.
For example, a 100% category does not mean that a Rs 25,000 eligible fee automatically receives a Rs 25,000 waiver: the published Rs 15,000 cap still matters. Budget for the balance and other costs until assistance is approved.
Eligibility: department students, not all college students
The current official FSS application form covers full-time bona fide UG/PG students in a University of Delhi department, institute or centre, subject to its income and academic rules.
The current notice excludes:
Students enrolled in colleges.
The listed BTech programmes, with CIC excluded from that BTech exclusion.
Five-year integrated law programmes.
School of Open Learning (SOL) and NCWEB students.
Students with Essential Repeat (ER) in any previous examination.
If you are unsure whether your enrolment is through a covered department/centre or an excluded college, confirm with your institution before collecting certificates or submitting a form. An income certificate alone cannot overcome an enrolment exclusion.
Documents to collect
Competent-authority EWS/OBC-NCL certificate issued after 31 March 2026, or annual family income certificate for FY 2025-26.
Latest FY 2025-26 family income-tax returns, if filed, and the specified family members' PAN copies.
Signed undertaking in the official format.
Bonafide certificate signed by the Head/Director.
Last examination marksheet and latest fee receipt.
Student's bank passbook/cancelled cheque showing name, account number and IFSC.
The form rejects a notary-signed income certificate, an income certificate in the student's name, and another person's bank account details. Its family-document list includes parents, unmarried sisters and unmarried brothers below 25. Read the exact checklist before uploading.
DU FSS application: one submission checklist
Confirm eligibility first: check that you are applying through a covered DU department, institute or centre, not an excluded affiliated college, SOL, NCWEB or other excluded route.
Open the official notice and form: read the DU 2026-27 FSS announcement and confirm that the linked application form heading says 2026-27.
Complete the online form: enter your university-record name, contact, programme, semester and income category, then complete the declarations.
Prepare signed or institution-verified documents: use the required income/EWS/OBC-NCL proof, undertaking, bonafide certificate, marksheet, fee receipt and bank proof; obtain signatures or institution verification where the form requires them.
Upload readable files: check the person, financial year, signature and bank details on every file before uploading.
Submit online by 23 October 2026: review the entries, submit the form and retain the acknowledgement/printout and a complete copy.
Submit the documents at DU: submit the uploaded FSS 2026 documents at Multipurpose Hall, University of Delhi, during the announced 2–5 November 2026 window. The detailed schedule will be uploaded on the DSW website, so check it before visiting.
Track verification: keep checking Dean Students' Welfare and your department/institute for the separate schedule, institution-verification instructions or follow-up requests.
Do not assume that an online acknowledgement is a sanction letter. Keep your signed certificates, receipt and submitted files together until the process is complete.
