CBSE Date Sheet 2027: Exam Updates, Fees and Preparation Guide
Check the expected CBSE 2027 date sheet timeline, download steps, fees, passing marks, LOC rules, sample papers and preparation tips.

Students waiting for the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 board exam timetable for 2027 will need to wait a little longer. As of October 21, 2026, the Central Board of Secondary Education has not released the official date sheet. The timetable is expected on cbse.gov.in, based on the release pattern of past years.
The CBSE board exams are expected to take place in February and March 2027. The final PDF will list subject-wise exam dates, paper codes, exam timings and important instructions. Students will not need to log in to download it. A phone, an internet connection and a little patience should do the job.
When will CBSE release the 2027 date sheet?
CBSE is expected to publish the Class 10 and Class 12 date sheets between October and November 2026. In earlier years, the board released the timetable after completing the List of Candidates, or LOC, process.
Students should check only official sources for the final schedule. These include the CBSE website, cbse.gov.in, and the academic website, cbseacademic.nic.in. Social media posts may share dates before the official notice. Treat such posts with care. A forwarded message is not a board circular, no matter how many family groups share it.
How to download the CBSE date sheet PDF
- Visit cbse.gov.in.
- Open the latest announcements or examination section.
- Click the link for the Class 10 or Class 12 date sheet 2027.
- Open the timetable PDF.
- Download the file and save a copy on your phone and computer.

The PDF will show the exam date, subject name, subject code, reporting details, exam time and exam-day instructions. Read the full document. Students often check only the date and miss key rules about answer books, stationery or entry time.

Sample papers and marking schemes are available
CBSE has released sample question papers for Classes 10 and 12 for the 2026-27 academic session. Students can find them on cbseacademic.nic.in along with marking schemes.
- Open cbseacademic.nic.in.
- Find the notice for sample question papers for Classes 10 and 12.
- Select Class 10 or Class 12.
- Choose a subject.
- Download the sample paper and marking scheme.
Use the marking scheme while checking answers. It shows how CBSE awards marks and helps students learn how much detail each answer needs. Solving a paper without checking the marking scheme is like playing cricket without knowing the score. You may enjoy it, but you will not know how well you did.
Passing marks and examination rules
Students must score at least 33% in each subject to pass the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 board exams. Students who do not meet the required marks may be eligible for a compartment or supplementary exam, as per CBSE rules.
Class 10 students can use the two-exam system under the applicable CBSE rules. Appearing in the first board exam is required for students who want to take the second exam. Students who pass the first exam may apply to improve marks in up to three subjects, subject to eligibility conditions. Students who miss three or more subjects in the first exam may not be allowed to take the second exam.
CBSE also expects students to maintain at least 75% attendance. They must complete internal assessments and study each subject for the required two-year period. Schools must enter the correct student details in the LOC. Name, parent or guardian name and date of birth corrections can be made during the correction window.
Theory and practical marks
Many Class 12 subjects carry 80 marks for theory and 20 marks for practical work or internal assessment. Subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography and Computer Science may carry 70 marks for theory and 30 marks for practical work.
Class 10 subjects such as English, Hindi, Science, Social Science and Mathematics often follow an 80 marks theory and 20 marks internal assessment pattern. Students should check the latest syllabus and marking scheme for their subjects because the marks split can vary.
What students should do before the date sheet arrives
- Download the official syllabus and sample papers.
- Make a subject-wise revision plan.
- Complete practical files and internal assessment work.
- Solve at least one timed paper each week.
- Check that personal details in school records are correct.
- Keep checking cbse.gov.in for the official notice.
Class 12 students can also use the sample papers to plan for practical exams and on-screen marking, which CBSE introduced for Class 12 answer books from 2026. Class 10 students should track the latest instructions on the two-exam system through their schools and CBSE notices.
