Delhi Police Constable 2027 Complete Guide: Latest Updates, Eligibility, Coaching Institutes & Test Series
Prepare for Delhi Police Constable with eligibility, written and physical tests, a study plan, and options from SelectionWay, Adda247, IBT Institute and Testbook.

Hello, future police constables! I'm Runal Naik. For Delhi Police Constable Executive preparation, start with the right eligibility, practise the four written-test subjects and build physical readiness alongside your studies. This guide explains the route and helps you choose classes or mocks according to what you actually need.
2027 update: The Constable Executive notification, vacancies and exam dates are awaited. The rules below use SSC's official 2025 notice as the preparation baseline. Candidates already in that recruitment should follow the Delhi Police recruitment notices for their PE&MT and document-verification instructions.
Which Delhi Police exam are you preparing for?
This guide covers Constable (Executive), male and female. SSC conducts the computer-based examination; Delhi Police handles physical testing, document verification and medical examination. Physical testing is qualifying, while written performance determines merit subject to the remaining conditions.
Constable Driver, Head Constable Ministerial and AWO/TPO are separate recruitments. For the Sub-Inspector route, read the SSC CPO complete guide rather than using that exam's papers or physical standards for Constable Executive.
Eligibility checklist
Citizenship: Indian.
Education: Class 12 pass from a recognised board. The notified Class 11 relaxation covers children of serving, retired or deceased Delhi Police personnel/MTS and specified Delhi Police departmental categories, including bandsmen, buglers, mounted constables, drivers and dispatch riders.
Age: General baseline 18-25; OBC relaxation 3 years and SC/ST 5 years. Other notified categories have separate concessions.
Male driving licence: Valid LMV motorcycle or car licence by PE&MT; a learner's licence does not qualify.
Keep your matriculation date of birth, qualification documents and category certificates ready. Use the next notice's age-reckoning and qualification cut-off dates to calculate personal eligibility; do not add a year to an old birth-date range.
Written-test pattern
The baseline paper has 100 questions, 100 marks and 90 minutes, in Hindi and English. A wrong answer deducts 0.25 mark.
Subject | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
GK / | 50 | 50 |
Reasoning | 25 | 25 |
Numerical | 15 | 15 |
Computer | 10 | 10 |
Total | 100 | 100 |
Study priorities: Give GK a daily revision slot. Build arithmetic through worked questions, practise reasoning under a timer and use Word, Excel and a browser to connect computer concepts with real actions. Check the subject list in SSC's official Constable Executive notice. An English-heavy general SSC package can contain material beyond this paper.
Physical standards and medical requirements
For candidates up to 30 years, the baseline endurance standards are:
Event | Male | Female |
|---|---|---|
1,600 m | 6 minutes | 8 minutes |
Long | 14 feet | 10 feet |
High | 3 ft 9 in | 3 feet |
Baseline height is 170 cm for men and 157 cm for women; male chest is 81 cm with 4 cm expansion. Notified category relaxations and older-age endurance bands apply. Medical rules include unaided 6/12 vision in both eyes and colour-vision requirements; read section 13 before committing to this career path.
Begin with a measured running baseline and supervised jump technique. Increase training gradually, with recovery days. A classroom or video course cannot replace practice on a suitable ground.
Application, admit card and documents
Use SSC's website for One-Time Registration and the exact Executive application when released.
Match personal details to certificates; complete the prescribed photograph, signature and examination preferences.
Preview the form and check payment status, then keep the submitted application and receipt.
Download the stage-specific admission certificate and follow its reporting, identity and document instructions.
After written shortlisting, use Delhi Police's instructions for PE&MT/DV. Assemble original qualifications, category/relaxation certificates and the applicable licence.
The baseline application fee is ₹100; women, SC/ST and eligible reserved ex-servicemen are exempt. A written shortlist is an invitation to the next stage, not an appointment letter.
Online coaching options: choose the missing support
Coaching is optional. Take a diagnostic paper first: if you understand the concepts but lose time, you may need practice and analysis rather than another full course. If basic arithmetic or reasoning stops you repeatedly, structured lessons can help.
SelectionWay: recorded SSC foundations
The current Selection Batch VOD 6.0 catalogue displays ₹1,999, 500+ classes and two-year validity. It is a broader recorded SSC product.
Gagan Pratap - provider states 7+ years - Maths. The product page identifies him; this is the provider's experience disclosure.
Student fit: Useful to explore if you want repeatable foundation lessons. Check the Constable computer syllabus and which subjects the selected package includes, rather than assuming every SSC batch covers them.
Use the linked SelectionWay profile to explore the institute. Compare its subject coverage with Police course options on AcademyCheck before choosing a general foundation programme.
Adda247: live classes with recordings
The Vijeta Delhi Police foundation package lists Hinglish classes, 12-month access, 428 online classes, 25 mocks and eight e-books. It covers multiple Delhi Police posts, so follow the Executive-specific subject plan.
Ashish Kumar Singh - provider states 15+ years - Mathematics. Ashutosh Tripathi - provider states 8+ years - General Studies. These are the course page's faculty disclosures.
The package describes app/Telegram doubt support and recordings. Its physical-support helpdesk does not establish supervised ground training.
Student fit: Explore it if you want scheduled classes with revision access. Ask for the actual daily timetable and a sample lesson; confirm the final payable fee and access period for your selected plan.
For either online option, pause a sample question, solve it yourself and then check whether the explanation helps you repeat the method. Compare an arithmetic topic that belongs to Constable Executive; a railway or other SSC lesson does not establish full Executive coverage.
Classroom coaching: IBT Institute and branch choice
IBT Institute advertises a 5-6 month Delhi Police Constable programme, daily assignments and weekly tests. Its current Delhi coaching page names Laxmi Nagar and Uttam Nagar centres. For classroom study, compare the daily travel time with the time you need for running, revision and test analysis.
AcademyCheck also has an IBT Institute Jangpura profile; it is a separate branch listing. Confirm the exact teaching centre and Executive batch. Ask for the all-inclusive fee, computer sessions, current timetable and sample assignment before joining.
Test series: practise the Executive paper
Testbook currently offers a Delhi Police Constable Executive practice catalogue labelled 2025, with Hindi/English tests. Its displayed categories include 30 full tests, 60 sectional tests and previous papers; the free practice mocks show 100 questions, 100 marks and 90 minutes. These are provider-listed practice resources, not a confirmed 2027 test specification.
Compare course choices through AcademyCheck's Police catalogue above. For a test-only purchase, try a free paper and inspect:
The four-section distribution, timer and negative-marking calculation.
Worked explanations for arithmetic and reasoning, with clear computer/GK answers.
How the report identifies slow topics and careless mistakes.
The subscription expiry and individual test expiry, so you can revisit solutions during revision.
Keep an error log with topic, reason for the mistake, corrected method and reattempt date. A large test count matters less than correcting the errors you repeat.
A practical 12-week starting plan
Weeks | Main task |
|---|---|
1-4 | Build basics; |
5-8 | Timed topic sets; |
9-12 | Full mocks; |
This is a suggested starting routine, not an official schedule. On a study day, reserve separate slots for GK, arithmetic/reasoning, computer practice and correction of yesterday's mistakes. Rebalance the plan after each mock instead of collecting more books.
Salary and the next decision
The notice specifies Pay Level 3, ₹21,700-₹69,100. This is the basic-pay scale, not a fixed take-home amount; allowances and deductions affect the payslip.
Choose this route for its actual role and selection requirements. Graduates comparing the Sub-Inspector route should use the CPO guide linked above. For broader SSC coaching costs, the KD Campus SSC and Bank fee guide explains programme and branch differences; check the Constable syllabus before buying an SSC package.
FAQs
1. Can students outside Delhi apply?
Yes. The official notice permits candidates from all parts of India. Check any personal category claim through the prescribed certificate rules.
2. Do I need a separate English course?
Executive has no separate English subject in the baseline pattern. Prioritise the four subjects shown above and avoid spending preparation time on another post's syllabus.
3. Should I wait for written results before physical practice?
Build physical readiness alongside study. Starting early lets you measure progress and learn jump technique without a last-minute rush.
4. Can a test series replace coaching?
It can suit a student whose concepts are already clear. Repeated conceptual errors are a signal to study that topic properly before taking another full mock.
5. How do I choose between recorded and classroom study?
Choose recorded lessons if you can maintain a routine and need flexible revision. Consider classroom study if regular attendance and direct questions help you, after accounting for travel and physical practice.
Summary: what next?
