CUET PG 2026: How to Download Your City Intimation Slip and What It Means

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released city intimation slips for the CUET PG 2026 exams scheduled for March 8, 9, and 10. If you're one of the candidates appearing for this exam, you need to download your slip right away.

Here's what you need to know about this important document and how it affects your exam preparation.

What Is a City Intimation Slip?

Think of the city intimation slip as a preview of where you'll take your exam. It tells you which city has been allotted to you for the examination. However, it's not your admit card. You'll receive that three to four days before your actual exam date.

The slip helps you plan your travel and accommodation if needed. This advance notice is particularly useful for students who might need to arrange travel to a different city.

How to Download Your City Intimation Slip

Getting your slip is simple. Visit exams.nta.nic.in/cuet-pg/ and log in with your application number and password. The process takes just a few minutes.

If you face any trouble downloading your slip, you can reach out to NTA's helpdesk at 011-40759000 or send an email to helpdesk-cuetpg@nta.ac.in.

Key Details About CUET PG 2026

The exam will run across 15 days in March, covering March 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, and 27. The NTA will conduct the test across 44 shifts, with each shift lasting 90 minutes.

This year, 4,11,366 unique candidates have registered for the exam across 157 subjects. Each candidate could choose up to four test papers or subjects based on their postgraduate programme preferences.

The exam serves as the gateway for admission to postgraduate programmes at participating universities across the country.

Exam Language and Paper Format

Most papers will be available in both English and Hindi. However, there are some exceptions you should note.

The 41 language papers for MTech or higher sciences will appear in English only. Acharya Papers will be in Sanskrit, except for Indian Knowledge System and Baudha Darshana (which will be trilingual in Hindi, Sanskrit, and English) and Hindu Studies (available in Hindi and English).

What the Numbers Tell Us

The attendance trend for CUET PG has been climbing steadily. In 2022, only 55.13% of registered candidates appeared for the exam. This number jumped to 61.51% in 2023, then to 75.14% in 2024, and reached 79.97% in 2025.

NTA credits this improvement to better planning. They now allot exam cities closer to candidates' current or permanent addresses. The advance announcement of the exam calendar also helps students prepare better.

For CUET PG 2025, out of 6,54,019 registered candidates, 5,23,032 actually appeared for the examination. The test spanned 43 shifts over several days in March and April 2025.

Important Points to Remember

The city intimation slip is not your final admit card. Don't confuse the two. Your actual hall ticket will arrive closer to your exam date.

Once you download your slip, check the city allotted to you. If you need to travel, start making arrangements now. Book your accommodation early, especially if the exam falls during a busy season.

Keep checking the official website for updates about your admit card. The NTA will release it three to four days before your scheduled exam date.

Make sure you have your application number and password ready. You'll need these to access all important documents related to your exam.

The computer-based test will take place at designated centres across the country. Your exact centre location will be mentioned on your admit card when it's released.

Why This Matters

Getting your city intimation slip early gives you time to prepare logistically. You can focus on your studies without worrying about last-minute travel arrangements.

The CUET PG exam is your ticket to postgraduate programmes at numerous universities. With over four lakh candidates competing across 157 subjects, preparation is key.

Download your city intimation slip now. Plan your logistics. Then get back to focusing on what really matters: your exam preparation.
