AC Team

Good news for all CSIR NET aspirants waiting for their exam dates. NTA has finally released the subject-wise timetable for the June session, and the wait is over. Grab a cup of tea (or coffee, no judgment here) and let's break down everything you need to know.
When Is the CSIR NET June 2026 Exam?
The exam will take place on two days: July 17 and July 18, 2026. NTA has split the subjects across different shifts, so make sure you check your specific slot carefully. One wrong glance at the timetable and you might show up a day late (please don't let that be you).
The exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for these subjects:
- Life Sciences
- Mathematical Sciences
- Physical Sciences
- Chemical Sciences
- Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences
Subject-Wise Schedule at a Glance
Here's the complete breakdown so you don't have to squint at a PDF on your phone screen:
| Exam Date | Subject | Shift 1 | Shift 2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| July 17, 2026 | Life Sciences | 9 AM to 12 PM | - |
| July 17, 2026 | Mathematical Sciences | - | 3 PM to 6 PM |
| July 17, 2026 | Physical Sciences | To be confirmed | To be confirmed |
| July 18, 2026 | Chemical Sciences | 9 AM to 12 PM | - |
| July 18, 2026 | Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary | 9 AM to 12 PM | - |
Notice that the timing for Physical Sciences isn't confirmed yet. Keep checking the official website for updates on this one.
City Intimation Slip: What It Actually Means
Along with the schedule, NTA has also released the city intimation slip. You can download this using your application number and password from the official website.
Here's the catch though: this slip is NOT your admit card. It simply tells you which city your exam center will be in. Think of it as a heads-up so you can book your train tickets or plan that road trip with your study group before prices shoot up closer to the exam date.
Still Waiting for Your Admit Card?
NTA has confirmed that the actual admit card will be released separately, closer to the exam date. This is standard practice, so there's no need to panic if you only see the city slip for now.
Once released, you can download your hall ticket from the official CSIR NET website using your login credentials. Bookmark that page. You'll thank yourself later when you're not scrambling to find the link an hour before your exam.
What Should You Do Right Now?
With dates locked in, it's time to get serious about your prep. Here's a quick checklist:
- Note down your exam date and shift timing
- Download your city intimation slip
- Plan your travel and accommodation early
- Keep checking the official website for the admit card release
- Revise your syllabus systematically instead of last-minute cramming
The exam is close, but you still have enough time to prepare well. Stay calm, stick to your study plan, and keep an eye on official notifications so you don't miss any updates.
